Timid me

When you've been shouted over for so long,

You learn that you're opinion doesn't matter.

That no matter how many times you try to explain,

Your face only gets wetter.

You start to believe what people say,

Though you strongly disagree.

When they hurt your feeling,

you learn to nod  and agree.

Complaints become your native language,

and compliments become foreign.

Your tears will silently pour,

from the impact of the pain.

It becomes hard to express personal emotion,

you feel no one understands.

When the worst of it comes

It leaves footprints in the sand.

Talking to someone about weakness,

becomes harder than ever.

So you learn to keep it within,

Forever and ever.

Weakness,

Distress,

Will I ever handle the stress?
