Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. The alarmed blared like a blood curdling, chilling scream of a child. I woke up with a gasp. The sound tells me I'm still alive. The sound tells me that this isn't all a dream, that nothing good is going to come out of my life. The sound is in my nightmares. I internally scream as pain washes through my body like I was being crushed by the pressure of the bottom of the ocean. I winced outwardly. The click of the bottle sending a chill down my spine. The feeling, the taste of the circular object in my mouth, making my want to gag, want to spit it out but I refuse my instincts. I pour the clear, nuke warm liquid into my mouth, tilting my head back, having to crank my neck in a painful and uncomfortable position. I want to scream, I want to cry but I can't. All I am capable of at the time is letting the circular object slide down my throat painfully slowly with the liquid also knows as water, aqua, H2O, whatever you like to call it.
I slip my slender, fragile body off of the warm soft mattress I once slept on only a few minutes ago. My feet hit the cold floor, I shiver. The floor is almost as cold as the truth of life.
The smell of the morning due, the scent that made me have a reason to live, the only thing that would ever calm me, wafted into the air as the last bit of raindrops dribble from the sky. I take a deep breathe, my narrow brown eyes closing to savor the sensation.
I exhale, my dead looking thin eyes opening. I step...once...twice...three times....I lost track as I made my way to the washroom. I close the door, the click of it being too loud for the moment, I flinch. Locking the door the quiet click making the soothing sensation in my body return. The pain rushing through my body slows as the pill dacinagrates the ability for me to feel the pain slightly.
Taking out the medium soft bristled brush I slowly let the minty smell of the toothpaste fill my nostrils, slipping it onto the bristles, each bristle making a small, almost in noticeable sound. Turning on the faucet, I let the freezing water warm, running the paste and brush along my teeth, not slowly but quickly, getting the plack and old food that had built up during the night. Over my front teeth, back and forth back and forth, over my bottom teeth, side to side, side to side, and vise versa.
I spit, letting the drain take the gunk and now bubbled paste. Sending it down to the sewers of thus nasty town in west Virginia. I grimace remembering I have school today, or as I like to call it, a pace people go to be forced to learn meaningless facts, phrases and old ways to do things and modern ways. But my mind is Wilde...I wish to be free. I slip off my filthy clothes from the night before, I set them in the cage for clothes, the hamper as you say it, grimacing and wincing at my form...female. Biologically female." I am not a female". I whisper encouragingly to myself. "I am a boy...I am a boy ..." Turning on the squealing showerhead I slip into the cleaning box, or shower. I rub soap onto my body, making me as fragrant as a rose in a field of weeds.
I refuse to shave my body again, "I am a boy.." I constantly feel the need to remind myself that every day just so people won't get to me when I come out as a transgender male, let alone a gay one.
Water running down my body slowly washing away the soap from my smooth body I sigh, slowly turning off the shower head. I dab a towel in my body, letting it soak up all of the water droplets that I left. Putting on a binder, a hoodie and some old jeans that have fit me since the young age of 12. I was a fat thing then.
I stretch, letting out an exasperated breathe and stare down at the floor tucking my short strands of hair into my hood as I pull it above and onto my head.
I slip on my sneakers, heading out the door of my cold and empty home, I didn't bother get a bite to eat, what's the point? I'll only end up forgetting even if I planned on it in the first place, its who I am. The door clicks as I close it behind me, stepping into my silver, bad engined stick shifted Dodge 2013, I drive off to a useless school.
This is my life, every morning do this in repeat. This is my hell, and my Name is Jonathan Marsh.
