When Lucas opened his eyes once again, he was confused. Where was he? What happened? Then he remembered and his head started to hurt. "Mike...Tommy..." He whispered and tried to move but he couldn't. His hands and legs were tied to the bed he was on. "The fuck?" He pulled at the ropes one more time. "This is pointless, man." He looked to the right and saw a boy. Maybe a year or so older than he was. "Look you have to let me go. I have to go find my friends." Lucas pleaded the boy but he sighed. "I can't do that. You have to wait a little bit longer." After he said that, an older man, two boys, and a blond haired woman entered the small house. "He is awake. Good." The old man said. "What's your name son?" Lucas was looking at the people around him and he would lie if he would say he wasn't scared. "Just untie him first Jeremiah. He is scared." The woman said and smiled at Lucas. The old man, Jeremiah, nodded at one of the boys and they untied him. Lucas sat up slowly, rubbing his wrists. "My name is Madison Clark. The one who was watching over you is my son, Nick. This man is Jeremiah Otto, he owns this place. And these are his sons, Jake and Troy." Lucas looked at each one of them, his eyes stopping at Troy. The boy was looking at him with such a cold expression in his face so he looked back at Madison quickly. "My name is Lucas Dawson. I-I was with my friends. They are brothers, Thomas and Mike. Are they here too?"
"They are probably dead by now," Troy said and it was almost scary how cool he was with the fact someone is just dead. "Troy!" His brother shot him a glare. "You should wait outside." He continued and Troy snickered before leaving. "He is not stupid. He saw the horde of walkers." He managed to call over his shoulder before Jake shut the door close. "I'm sorry about my brother. He is not really the sensitive type of a guy." Jake smiled sadly at Lucas. The blond boy looked over at Nick. "I heard your voice before I passed out." Nick smiled softly. "We saw you. Me and Troy. Troy got you inside the car while I tried to lure the walkers away from you."
"Did you see my friends?" He asked with hope in his voice but Nick shook his head. "I'm sorry. We only saw you."

It was afternoon, Lucas assumed by looking at the sun. He was standing by the fence, looking far away. Tommy and Mike were somewhere over there. Dead or alive. Or alive dead. He didn't care he just wanted to find them. "You okay?" He looked over his shoulder and smiled when he saw Nick with some girl. "This is Alicia, my younger sister." He nodded at her before looking back at Nick. "I need to go out Nick. I need to at least try to look for them. They saved my life." Lucas sighed and looked down. "Please Nick." Nick looked at Alicia, then at Lucas and he hummed. "That's not my call to make. I'm here to take you to our house. My mom wanted you to stop by to have dinner with us." Lucas looked behind the fence one more time before nodding at Nick, following him and Alicia to their house. Madison smiled at him when he entered the house. "Welcome, Lucas. I was thinking it would be better for you if you wouldn't be all alone."
"That's nice of you Madison. Thank you." She pointed at a free chair and Lucas sat down. "So...The Otto's run this place?" Lucas asked and Madison nodded. "Jake will be most likely in charge after Jeremiah will die. Troy is in charge in the militia."Yeah, I guess he is that type of a guy," Lucas mumbled and Nick sighed. "I'm sorry about what he said. He is just like that."
"No, it's okay. He was right. There is no chance they survived that. Tommy's leg was probably broken and they were both tired. I-I just...if they are there and they are...walking dead I wanna put them down. I wanna save them." Alicia put her hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. "I'm sorry. When we were on our way here, we lost a family member too. I know it hurts." Lucas smiled at her. They started to eat in silence and Lucas noticed how Madison, Nick, and Alicia were looking at each other. "Okay, what's the deal? You wanna tell me something, no?" Lucas put his spoon down and raised his brow. "Just wanted to warn you. Jake is fine but try not to get too close to Jeremiah and be careful around Troy. He is not right in his mind. He is dangerous." Lucas smiled a bit. "Thanks for the warning but anyone can be dangerous in this new world. You, me, anyone." He stood up slowly. "Thank you for the dinner Madison but I'm really tired. I will be on my way home now." He turned around and left the house, closing the door carefully. Once he was out of the house, he looked around himself. There were few of the guys guarding the main gate but he could easily sneak out through one of the fences. He chose one and was ready to leave but a deep voice stopped him. "You will be dead in like five minutes without a weapon and water." He looked back from where he was kneeling and saw Troy looking down at him. "Then go get it and come with me," Lucas said and Troy crossed his arms over his chest. "Now why would I do that? Man, your friends are dead, end of the story." Lucas rolled his eyes. "I know that Troy but that's not the point. Either you go with me or leave me alone. I'm leaving, with or without you." He shrugged and got behind the fence. "So?" Troy looked back at the ranch before looking back at the blond boy. He licked his lips before laughing. "Alright man. But I'm just gonna watch." He got over the fence and joined Lucas. The smaller boy looked at Troy. "So which way?" Troy blinked before he started to walk while shaking his head. "Impossible." He whispered and Lucas laughed a bit.
