A Big Regret

Bryce wasn't too sure on how she got here, the edge of light world, staring at the giant wall in front of her. A project, a passion project for school, yeah that's why she's here. She swore to her teachers and friends, in a moment of almost hysteria, that she could figure out how to bring the monster world and the human world together. Her confidence had boasted through as she told tales of how people had met kind beasts who had welcomed them instead of ate them. She was so ready back at her school building, but now? Oh, she was terrified now.
The only thing separating these divided lands was nothing but a concrete wall with a small door every few miles. Bryce had stolen an authorization card to she could go on through without trouble, but she shook as if she was to be met with denial. Her head filled with anxiety, replaying stories her parents and teachers had told her about the dark world.
" horrid scaley creatures 15 feet high! With razor sharp fangs and claws the size of a bazooka! " " rotting flesh reanimated to eat all life that it so much as smells nearby " " furry wolf like beasts that tears the flesh like it were made of butter!". Oh so many stories and oh so many fears. She thought of turning around and running, never seeing this place again and apologizing for being so dumb, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. ' I'm already this far, Ive already stolen and yelled and fought, I can't just stop ' Bryce thought to herself.
With a sharp inhale and a few shaky movements, she found herself in the tunnel to the dark world.

Shyn'Khan found herself wandering about the edges of her home land, pressing her clawed hand against the wall and dragging it along. She was bored out of her mind, she dreamed for some form of excitement to happen. To have an adventure, to go on high speed chases and experience the unknown. But her dreams felt so weak compared to her reality. School work, lots and lots of it. She had just gotten out of the damn place, still wearing her uniform and everything, and couldn't help but dread the next day.
She looked up into the sky, the dark mass illuminated by artificial lights, and wished. Wished something new would happen, wished something exciting would happen. Wished for something other than the same old same old.
She suddenly sat down, her scaley tail sliding to her side as she leaned against the wall with a sigh. ' what's the use? Nothing ever changes, it's foolish to think some measly hope will do anything ' Shyn'Khan thought to herself. She hung her head low and closed her eyes, not hearing the clanking of metal not too far away.
