6. Jealousy and Not so Good Undercovering

Start from the beginning

"Yeah," Steve agrees blushing. "We're getting married." He nervously repeats looking at Rachel who smiled shyly blushing just as much as Steve.

"Congratulations, where are you guys thinking of going?" The employee asks.

Panicking Steve looked down at the laptop right as the drive's location came up to reveal its location as:

"New Jersey." Steve blurts.

As he looked up at the employee Rachel's eyes widened when she noticed the look on his face. 'Please don't recognise him," she thought as she reluctantly clenched her fist.

"I have the exact same glasses." The employee states looking Steve straight in the eyes as Rachel's muscles relax.

"Wow, you two are practically twins." Natasha sarcastically says as she continued to type.

"Yeah, I wish." The employee says before motioning to Steve. "Specimen. If you guys need anything: I've been Aaron." He says before walking away.

"Really Nat." Rachel whisper-shouts referring to the 'cover up.'

"You said: nine minutes." Steve states ignoring Rachel even though he wanted to say the same thing.

"Shh... relax." Natasha tells him. "Got it." She says as the exact location popped up on screen. "You know it?" She asks noticing Steve leaning forward towards the screen.

"We used to..." Steve tells her before looking up at Rachel who narrowed her eyes at him inquisitively.

"Where?" Rachel asks.

"Camp Lehigh."

"Standard tag team, two behind, two across, two coming straight at us." Steve states quickly as they slowly pace out of Apple. "If they make us I'll engage, you two hit the south escalator at the metro."

"Shut up and put your arm, laugh at something I said." Natasha ordered.

"What?"

"Do it." She ordered as Rachel looked to her right as she and Steve laughed letting the two agents pass them with no suspicion brought to the three.

Steve's head snapped back behind them to double check but his head turned back with no trace of 'go,' on his features.

As the three got on the escalator Rachel slid her phone out of her back pocket and put it to her ear as Rumlow came into view.

"Incoming." She muttered loud enough for Natasha and Steve to hear as she pretended to be on the phone.

"Kiss me." Rachel's eyes grew wide but pretended she couldn't hear the words Natasha just let out of her mouth.

"What?" Steve questions surprised.

"Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable." Natasha quickly explains.

"Yes, they do." Steve agrees before being cut off by Natasha's lips being pressed on his own.

Rachel looked away from Rumlow as she spoke to herself on the phone some weird general stuff. Though she couldn't help but feel weird. She knew they were kissing. She knew it was for the sake of their lives and the mission but she couldn't help but feel odd. Jealousy? Rachel was never jealous.

"Still uncomfortable?" Natasha asked as she walked past Rachel.

"That's not exactly the word I would use." A flustered Steve responded as he too past Rachel who followed behind him.

"Where did Captain America learn how to use a car?" Natasha asked as her legs rested on the dashboard as Rachel kept her eyes on the blurry views out the window.

"Nazi Germany, and we're borrowing take your feet off the dash." Steve explains simply making Rachel smirk to herself. She remembered that day.

"He's good at it too." Rachel pipes. "If this whole thing goes wrong maybe go on to something like that."

"What stealing?" Steve assumes.

"No. Agent." Rachel suggests. Rachel looked up as Rachel caught his eyes look at her from the rear-view mirror. "Um... hello? MI6? We're always looking for possible agents. Plus I trust you. So does Tarr."

"You really think this isn't going to work?"

"No, I never said that." Rachel reminds. "Just in case. We don't know exactly who we're dealing with."

"And two Avengers plus the fastest woman alive can't stop 'em?" Natasha retorted.

"I'm just thinking about the possible options. I tend to do that in tough situations."

"How about time travel." Steve muttered.

"Yes, actually." Rachel confirms looking towards his turned head. "Many times. I couldn't help but think that I would go back with you not going in the ice. You actually getting killed. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I couldn't save you." Rachel spoke with full uncertainty in her voice. Even Natasha could sense the hidden fear beneath it. "It's been like that since my father." Rachel concludes before staring out the window as a tear unbeknownst to the two front seat passengers fell down her cheek.

Natasha trying to put a smile on Rachel's face she smirked to herself before looking up at Steve.

"Alright, I'm going to ask you a question." She began the mischief clear in her voice as Rachel leaned her head against the seat. "Of which you don't have to answer... I mean I don't think you answer it though without even-"

"What?" Steve asks wanting to get straight to the point.

"Was that your first kiss since 1945?"

"Oh for goodness sake..." Rachel mumbles.

"That bad huh?" Steve assumes.

"I didn't say that."

"Well it kind of sound like that's what you're saying."

"No, I didn't, I just wondered how much practice you had."

"Practice? You don't need practice."

"It's like watching my childhood fights all over again..." Rachel mutters as the two continued to bicker over 'kissing practice' of all things. It made arguing over the front seat seem more like an agreement.

"It was not my first kiss since 1945." Steve states shutting Natasha up who only smirked in his direction. "I'm 95, I'm not dead."

"Nobody special then?" Nat assumes.

"Like it or not it's hard to find something with life experience but..."

"Oh, there is someone." Natasha figures sitting up.

"No, well, not really but..."

"So it's a crush..."

"Okay! Fine, yes."

"Who?"

Silence.

"Your not going to tell me after all the effort I put into finding you a date."

Silence.

"Okay. You win Rogers." Rachel couldn't help but let her gaze flicker around suspiciously as she tried to figure out but there was no one she could come up with.
