What is a photograph?
It is a moment in time but that's all it is
One second out of millions
And most of the time
A photograph is more fantasy than reality
A mask we put on to look one way
When inside we know we will
Never be the same person who is
posing in that photo
We adjust our hair,
Yelling at the camera man to get our best angle
Like somehow people will only accept us if
They see the left side of our bodies
At a 45 degree angle
With the sun shining from the West
And a slight breeze in the air!
A photograph only shows an image
you want others to see
But what if I have no good angle
What if I can't be truly seen in a single photo,
What if the best parts of me
Take time to see
Because like photos some people
Judge off of what they see at that exact moment
And so they never stick around to see,
The best parts of you and me.
