The door was quickly opened revealing a very beautiful woman who looked to be in her late twenties.
"hello, you must be Alexis am I right? "she asked holding out her hand
"yes I am Alexis, Alexis Williams. "I answered taking her hand in mine
"you are in the right place,please come in. I'm Miss Brown your teacher of English. "she informed me while smiling.
"class this is Alexis Williams. I'm pleased to inform you that she will be learning with us from today henceforth. Be kind to her,she is not yet familiar with the school. "she announced and all the kids where now looking at me _great
"you may take a seat anywhere you like seeing there is more than one empty table "she finished pointing at the two empty tables and I nodded thanking her.
I decided to take the seat at the back seeing I don't like front seats and the other seat was in the front row. I sat down and closed my eyes only to feel a nudge on my shoulder. At first I ignored it thinking maybe I was just too nervous and started imagining things but the moment I felt it on the same spot I opened my eyes and looked to my right.
There was a boy looking at me and I tried my best to smile at him
"uum hey I don't mean to be rude but that seat is taken "he said looking at me
"I don't see anything on the table and to me that's an indication that the seat is vacant " I replied looking unbothered
A few ears must have heard because I thought I heard the girl in front of me giggle.
"I was only trying to save you some trouble on your first day" he said holding his hands up in surrender
"well tha__"
"who the hell is she and what is she doing in my seat? "a voice sounded cutting me shot.
The boy on my right looked at me with the 'I told you so ' face but I shrugged it off making sure to look unperturbed but my heart was a beating mess. I looked up to see a boy looking down at me furiously but I swear the moment my eyes locked on his he seemed to have relaxed and before I could say anything he scanned the room and his gaze lingered on the empty seat with one last glance at me he went to the front row and took the last seat. I exhaled a breath I didn't realize I was holding relief flooding my body. Remembering that I was in class I looked at Miss Brown who seemed to be shocked at what just happened and looking around all the kids in class had the same expression on their faces _weird
Miss Brown finally spoke breaking the awkward silence and I couldn't be more grateful.
"today we are going to learn how to write a story. Writing a story may look or sound simple but there are some steps and rules to be followed in order to come up with a good story.
Now there are different types of stories........
She continued explaining and all the students seemed to be paying attention and more importantly looked very interested in the topic. I wish I could say the same about me. The topic was interesting yes but my mind was still on the hottie that was claiming my seat. He is handsome _scratch that _he is drop dead gorgeous the kinda guy that would have a girl drooling on first glance. Dirty blonde hair, sea blue eyes and a body of a god. But there's something that looks off about him. He looks disoriented and I didn't miss the bags under his eyes indicating that he hadn't seen some good night sleep for only God knows how long.
"Hey, my name's Lisa"the girl sitting in front of me said snapping me out of my thoughts
"Hey I'm Alexis "I said giving her a genuine smile
"you are welcome to Northridge Academy. If you need any help at all don't hesitate to ask me. Here you can have my number in case of anything... If you don't mind that is?"she said the last part more like a question and she seemed shy _i think I like her already
"thanks Lis and of course I don't mind I'm actually glad I have a friend " I said _what is that_ OMG she is blushing _yep I officially like her.
"wow no one has ever wanted to be friends with me and you just called me Lis....i like it "Lisa said with a sad smile and I couldn't help but feel sad and wonder why anyone wouldn't want to be friends with such a sweet girl.
Without much thought I extended my hand to Lisa "friends? "I asked
"friends " she replied with a toothy grin and I couldn't help but laugh
As if on cue the siren went off indicating that English class was over _great I heard nothing Miss Brown was teaching.
People were going out of class and I looked at the time only to realize it was break time _wow Alexis two periods of English and you got absolutely nothing _i mentally laughed at myself.
I looked around and saw that I was the only one left in class with Miss Brown standing at the door waiting for me to go out
"oh I'm sorry "I muttered feeling the heat rising up to my cheeks
"it's okay "Miss Brown said, "I hope you enjoyed your First Class? " she said the last part question like.
"uuuh yeah "I said my voice sounding more uncertain _stupid voice
"honestly I didn't get most of the lesson "I admitted feeling embarrassed
"it's okay "she laughed "I will send you the details just give me your email"she said while handing me her phone and I put in my email address
"thanks Miss Brown "I said grateful
"Anne, you can call me Anne " she said
"alright miss.... Anne " I said shyly and she laughed
"alright Alexis, see you tomorrow "she finally said giving me a wave and I smiled back at her waving goodbye.
"She is so sweet " I thought to myself
I realized I didn't know the way to the school cafeteria so I decided to go have my break outside school. I think I saw a coffee shop close by on my way here. I took out my phone and looked at the map and for sure I located the coffee shop so I followed the directions. I reached in no time and I found out it was merely a good five minutes walk. I sat down in one booth and ordered a vegan sandwich _no I'm no vegan I just eat some less gross vegan food.
I was going to be late so I finished my food quickly and rushed back to school. Finally finding my next class I sat down at the back hoping I wasn't 'taking someone's seat ' again
The next class went by fast and in no time it was time to knock off. I packed my stuff and left class almost sprinting to the door _yes who wouldn't be happy to go home
The moment I reached outside I saw a familiar face putting on a helmet. It seems he saw me too because his gaze lingered on my body as if checking me out and he speed out on his bike leaving a trail of dust _woah _first day wasn't as bad after all.
When he was no longer in sight I looked around and spotted my dads car and I started walking towards it...
