Life Changing Decisions

Authors Note: just so you don't get confused, throughout the story you will get to look through the minds of several characters. When looking in the minds of America, Marlee, Maxon, Carter, Lucy, Aspen, etc., They are currently in their selection time period. Characters like Eadlyn,  Ahren, Kile, and other people their age are speaking during Eadlyns selection. Does that make sense? If you need additional clarification please comment.😁

~Marlee~
I looked out my bedroom window to see Maxon and America laughing together in the sunny gardens. I cant believe she hasn't realized it yet. I recognized my true love right away.
Maxon will be ok if I leave him.
I must stay for Carter.
~Eadlyn~
I walk on to stage and take my seat for the report. In just minutes I will be drawing the names of the selected boys hopelessly competing for a heart they will never earn. In Just minutes I will be pleasing my family and helping them please the country. In just minutes I will be changing 35 boys life's for better or for worse.
I glanced over at the clock.
Just 7 more minutes.

~Ahren~
I could see Mom and Dad watching Eadlyn. They were beaming. Practically reflecting the light of the cameras off of their shimmering clothes.
Eadlyn looked fierce. I could only Imagine what she had in mind for these poor young men.
I was on the edge of my seat trying to hold  in my laughter. I looked on the crowd and saw Osten and Josie fighting with each other. Kaden was calmly watching not wanting to interfere.
" Places. PLACES." Gavril and Silvia were calling everyone to their seats.
This was going to be hilarious.

~Kile~
I can't believe Eadlyns actually doing this. She's the most entitled person I know. I thought she wouldn't want anyone taking from her crown. Ugh that women drove me crazy. I guess she wasn't all that bad but she is way to harsh on me and Josie.
I had no interest in the report tonight so after taking a quick glance at the stage I cuddled back into my book.

~America~
"Smile!"
I turned around to see Maxon snapping a picture.
Today the sun was so bright and the gardens looked so beautiful I couldnt help coming to sit on my favorite bench in the world.
Our bench.
" Stop taking pictures when Im not in my most glamorous state!" I playfully yelled. He chuckled and sat down next to me with a pretend shove.

~Aspen~
Today was Friday so my group of guards was training. We had to run laps around the Royal guarden.
It pained me to look through the hedges and see America intimately talking with Maxon.
I shook my head and kept running.
Eyes up to the sky.
Nothing should matter in this moment.
Keep running Aspen.
Keep running or you may never start again.

~ Josie~
I looked to my right then to my left.
My name is Josie Woodwork, I am practically a royal, no one is as beautiful as myself. I looked down at the tiarra I was holding and sighed. This crown will never be mine. Everything I ever wanted is Eadlyns and she looks at me like trash. " Josie are you missing your diary?I hope Ahren didn't see it!" I turned around to see Osten. Eadlyn had the most elegant life in the country but the fact that she has to deal with Osten every day explains why shes so crabby. " GIVE IT BACK OSTEN." Uugh I really dont need this right now.

~Lucy~
I looked up from the books I was dusting to see a picture of America with her family. I start to remember what it was like when my mom was still alive .
I missed mom.
I missed him.

~Elise~
I have never felt love and I suspect I never will.
You must bring honor to your family Elise.
That's what everybody says.
Be perfect Elise.
Always dress in red.
Be careful Elise.
You must be calm and poised.
Be worth it Elise.
You must marry and bring wealth and fame upon yourself and family.

~Kaden~
Ostens pranks on Josie were priceless.I stood by as he teased her and she shot back rude words. I realized she was holding one of Eadlyns tiarras. Eadlyn will not be happy about that. I look up at her. She looks poised and fierce but behind that I can see how nervous she is. I see Ahren next to her with a smug expression watching Osten and Josie fight. He sees me staring and he smiles, I do too. Mom and dad looked so proud to be here. They have worked so hard and made the country better then any of the other rulers have.
I felt so lucky to have my family.
