Chapter 1

Ring! Ring! Ring!
Marinette groaned and looked at her phone. Alya.

Girl, you're going to be late to school! What are you waiting for?

Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, I AM going to be late! I'll see you at school Alya!

Alya hung up the phone.

She shook her head, a smirk growing on her face. "Marinette, Marinette, Marinette."

—AT SCHOOL—

"Sorry I'm late Alya, I'm so lame." She said, looking down at her feet.

"Girl, you're fine. I called you early so you would get to school early!" They both looked at the clock. Six minutes until school officially started. A new record, for Marinette.

"Wow, I can't believe it!"

"Speaking of that, me and the girls have been thinking of going to the pool after school. Adrian will be there!" Alya said with a smirk.

"Of course! I'll check with my parents, and I'll meet you there, ok?"

School sped by quickly after that. At 3:00, they were finally ready to go to the pool. As Marinette was packing her swimsuit into her bag, she received a text from Alya.

Hey girl! I wanted to let you know that I'll be a little late. I have something with my sisters to attend to.

Marinette sighed. "At least I won't be late... I hope." She said to herself. Tikki spoke up.

"I'm happy you're going to the pool Marinette! I just hope we don't have another akumatized victim like siren,"

"Me too, Tikki, me too."

At the pool, she saw everybody there. Most importantly, her crush, Adrian. He was wearing only a blue and green swim shorts. Damn, she thought to herself. Adrian spotted Marinette and walked over.

"Hey Marinette! I'm glad you made it. Want to swim with me?" He said, unknowingly oblivious of Marinette's crush on him.

"S- sure, Adrian!" She stuttered. He grabbed hold of her hand and they walked toward the edge of the pool.

"Ready to jump?" He said, ready to hold his breath.

"As ready as I'll ever be!" Marinette said.

"One, two, three!" They jumped in, laughing once they reached the surface. They happily swam towards the edge of the pool and looked up. Alya.

"What're you two lovebirds doing?"

"L-Lovebirds?!" Marinette said, in disbelief.

"We're not lovebirds!" Adrian yelled, as a piece of Marinette's heart broke in two.

"I'm going to go off the diving board, ok?" She said to the two of them.

She hopped out of the pool and made her way to the diving board. She ran off the edge and jumped as high as she could, and did a pencil dive to the bottom. When she went to push off the bottom to jet towards the surface, she realized her foot was stuck in the vent at the bottom of the pool. She yanked her foot, hard, but to no prevail. Marinette started to panic.

"Tikki, spots on!" She tried to yell but no one could hear her.

"Help me!" She yelled, but no one heard her. She was loosing oxygen by the second.

"Alya! Adrian! Nino!" Marinette managed to yell using her last breath of oxygen.

Then everything went black.
