The lives they spared

Start from the beginning

I sit down and place Meliodas on the floor, and Elizabeth sits in front of him with a praying position. "Are you alright Elizabeth?" Hawk asks, a bit tired out. Me, being the sneakiest I can, I look around quietly to see if anyone is nearby. At first I wasn't sure if anyone would be here, since the whole place had been evacuated, so now I'm sitting next to Elizabeth and hoping she's also okay.

"Eh, are you praying Elizabeth?" Hawk questions, and I nod my head towards him so he can be quiet. However, I was unable to keep him quiet after he realises Elizabeth was getting larger. "I'm not sure but, I think you're getting bigger." I say, and Elizabeth looks at me questionably. "Huh?" And we happened to be right, Elizabeth was growing? 'How did she even become smaller in the first place..?' And that clearly saves another story for another day.

"O-Oh no! I'm returning back to my normal size!" Also being a woman, I don't look away and I hand her my cloak and large scarf. She thanks me graciously and I just nod my head as a "you're welcome."

"-So I doubt they'd let her out of their sights, I'm positive she's somewhere in this town... Damn those Seven Deadly Sins..." Turning my head towards a pink haired woman, I attempt to cover up Elizabeth's body as much as possible. However, it wasn't much help as I was too short to cover Elizabeth's breasts. (Thankfully they were hidden by the scarf. TwT)

"V-Veronica? Big sister?!" I mutter a thank you to the Goddesses who let this pink haired woman be Elizabeth's older sister, and the other man-who I assume is this Veronica's bodyguard-is looking away.

As kindly as Veronica is, she hands Elizabeth her own pink fur coat, and Elizabeth proceeds to hand me back my scarf and cloak. I smile at Veronica, who instead glares at me. "Who is this girl anyway?" I wave at Veronica with my smile slowly decreasing in size, it was as though I was already feeling shy. "Oh, this is lady Y/n. She helped us escape from the destruction over t-there." Bashfully, I look away from Elizabeth and Veronica with a small blush on my warm cheeks.

"Eh, it was no big deal. I just wanted to make sure everyone was safe and unharmed." I mutter, except all four of them heard me perfectly. "See? She's done nothing wrong." Elizabeth says, but is quickly cut off by Veronica.

"Did you really think I was done, stupid?!" Of course, I back away from them with another deadpan expression. 'Drama~', I think to myself, and I cautiously step backwards to Meliodas' body.

"And Meliodas is the worst of all, he's a real monster!" I look down at Meliodas when Veronica said such a thing. Sure, he seemed like a complete asshole back at the vaizel festival, but it still didn't mean he wasn't trying to protect anyone from getting hurt. After all, I heard him tell the rest of his teammates to help evacuate!

I frowned at the sight of the blonde. Memories that I used to have appeared in my mind, how many times me and my Meliodas had fun together. My Meli was no monster, and even if the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins sounded like him, I am not one to believe the rumours about him.

Unknown to the others, I crouch down and move a strand of hair from his face, which looked pretty beaten up. "You're no monster, not to me anyway." I whisper, resting my hand on his cheek. 'Thank the Goddesses that he's unconscious.'

"There's no point in standing here and talking about this, we're going home!" As Veronica takes hold of Elizabeth's wrist, attempting to drag her away, I retaliate and go in front of Elizabeth. "You have no right to say such a damn thing!" I yell in her face, despite my short height, I looked very much intimidating.

In our defence, Meliodas also gets back up and scowls at Veronica. "I'm gonna protect Elizabeth.. Even if I die trying!" I nod my head to agree with him.

However... Even though I was supposed to be helping them, I couldn't help but faint when I felt a sudden buzz to the back of my neck.

As me and Meliodas grew older and older, slowly wasting our lives on our field and home, we began to gain unwanted visitors...

One night I was woken up to a shining blade to my throat, and the owner of the blade cackling beside me and Meliodas' bed. It turned out Meliodas was nowhere to be seen, and it was most likely that he went hunting in the middle of the night again, as we were short on food.

"Hand me all the valuable stuff here or it's your life kiddo." With my eyebrows raised, I got up from the bed and stood there, almost stiff as a statue. My heart began racing in milliseconds, and my Adam's apple bobbing up and down my throat. "P-Please, just take whatever.." I was stopped due to the blade getting closer to my throat. Despite the blade being dull, it managed to cause blood to trickle down my neck as if it was lava.

The thief only giggles, a malicious intent in his dark eyes. "Thing is kiddo, I don't really plan on carrying any dead weight." At a sudden state, his face inches closer to mine with a scowl, "Just tell me what's valuable or I'll sell your dead body instead."

My body reacts as quick as it could, pointing towards a small gem in a glass box. It may have been one of my birthday presents from Meli, but I had acted too selfish as the only thing I wanted was to stick with my Meliodas.

All of a sudden, with my exceedingly good hearing, I hear the creaking of the front door downstairs. The thief is soon in a state of fear, taking hold of the back of my white tank top and dragging me behind him. Their blade hung at the side of my already bleeding neck and my eyes widen at the sight of Meliodas opening the door with his night clothes on.

When I had woken up, I was left on a small part of the ground, and the rest around me was-literally-taken out of.

In front of me I saw the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins stare right at me. I froze up as he began to sniff me continuously, which scared the crap out of me. Then I had noticed the weird marking on the side of his face and his chest. What even happened to him..?

Before I could ask him anything, for example for him to let me get up on my own two feet, he places his head on my shoulder. 'Why is his face so hot? I swear it's burning my shoulder..' I whimper at his touch when he snakes an arm around my waist, keeping me in place.

Despite all the strength I had earlier, I seemed to have lost all of it when he tightened his arms around me, as if he didn't want to actually let me go. "C-Can you... Let me go, now?" Still, he doesn't comply. However, he does eventually look up.

'Violet eyes..?' This, unbeknownst to me, was the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins' true power, as it was revealed that he is a demon. I had no idea what to do, as the embrace slowly got tighter and tighter. There happened to be no air left in my lungs, so I was in the midst of choking.

The same violet eyes had burned into my (E/c) ones for a good five minutes until he was struck in the side with a large sword.
