"How about this dress? Does it look too tight?" My mother asks, posing in her full length mirror. She wore a black long dress that was sleeveless with a sheer type top. "It shows a lot of cleavage." I point out, looking back at my phone.

Something about being around my mother after I had slept with the guy she's about to marry just felt utterly weird! And who can blame me!

"Can you at least act like you care what I'm wearing, Zaina? This is my engagement party!" My mother though sounded a bit annoyed, I couldn't ignore that she somewhat sounded excited.

She's excited because she's going to marry Christian..

I try to shake off the sudden uneasy feeling that swelled within me. I wondered if it was evident that I was utterly guilty. I was feeling so guilty that it was beginning to make me nauseated!

"It looks fine mom." I murmur. "Well, thank you. Anyways, have you've tried on the dress I bought you to wear?" She asks. I shake my head. I knew it wouldn't be the dress I would've chosen for myself, I had no choice but to wear it. There was no real reason for me to prematurely try it on.

"Well, do it! Tomorrow's my engagement party! I can't have there being any problems with your dress!" She hisses, already motioning me to go try it on. "Mom- I promise it's perfect. Don't worry about it." I roll my eyes, standing up from her bed.

"I'm going to bed." I add.

"Fine- but please Zaina, try it on. I hung it up in your closet next to that black long sleeved dress." She says, still examining herself in the mirror.

I was about to walk out when I froze a bit. "what black dress?" I ask, turning towards her. "I don't know, Zaina! One of your dresses." She shakes her head before motioning with her hand for me to leave.

I narrow my eyes before walking away upstairs.

When I got up into my room, I walked into the closet, spotting the dress my mother had boughten me to where to her stupid engagement party. It was a dark red dress and to my surprise I actually liked it! It was just a plain color, long with small sleeves.

I moved it aside, looking for the black dress she talked about.

And there it was. The black long sleeved dress I wore to the masquerade ball, the exact one I had turned back in after I wore it.

It was there, hung up in my closet...

I narrowed my eyes, quite confused. That's when I noticed a small piece of white paper sticking out from within the dress. I reached in, pulling out a folded up piece of paper. I opened it.

It read; Zaina, a dress that accelerates your beauty even further, should be owned.
Christian.

I couldn't help but smile as well as blush. Though everything was still completely wrong about us being together, it would always feels so right to me.

I walked out of my closet, shutting the door before walking out of my room.

I knew Christian was home, though I wasn't sure if he was asleep. I hadn't seen him since yesterday morning when I found him in his room dressing.

Now with my mother back it felt like we definitely had to be more careful. Doing what? I don't even know. In fact I'm not even sure where we stood.

I took a deep breath before knocking on his door.

I wasn't even sure this was an appropriate thing to do. But to be completely honest, everything we had been doing was probably inappropriate altogether! Everything about our relationship was so wrong, as I've stated.
