I hated my life as half human half wolf, my mom the alpha of our pack and my dad the human. He was the reason I haven't been able to turn. I'll be goddamn near 18 in 5 months and most wolves turn first on their 15th birthday. Also being the only child in my family, that means I'm alpha next but that's not going to happen first if I don't make a change and second if I can't find a mate.
That was the reason we moved here to America because every guy my parents have attempted to set me up with has been self centered assholes. Plus I haven't really seen myself with anyone, I don't know what it is I'm just not attracted to anyone at this moment.
Today was my first day at Jefferson high. I'll be lonely considering everyone in my pack we're going to stay and get homeschooled or just didn't really give a fuck about learning about human lives. It was important to me history was everything, I've almost read every single book my parents had in our library. I was a big reader. I was small and somewhat muscular. My hair matched my dads being what they call bleach blonde over here, and it was long. I refuse to cut more than a few inches off. My tan skin stood out in this city mostly because the sun wasn't out very often, I stood at 5'4" getting my mums height. I was into sports, mainly football, soccer is what they call it here in the US.
My mum bought me a car so I didn't have to rely on anyone taking me to this school. I parked in the front, so it was easier for me to get to the office to receive my schedule. It was the beginning of December so they were already half way through their school year. When I walked into the office I waited until spoken to. "How may I help you."
"Ello, I'm a transfer from England. Mi name is Dawn Mcaster." I replied.
"Ah, yes, have a seat your going to be waiting on my TA to get here to show you to your first period." She stated. I sat down at the chair closest to the door hoping that the TA wouldn't be so long. I hear the first bell ring and that's probably when she'll show up. I was wrong. The TA showed up after the second bell rang. "Silver, would you be so kind to show Dawn to her first period."
Her face looked as though she was disgusted with me, she smiled though and shook her head. She was beautiful though, almost opposite to myself. She was tall and a little lanky, she has milky white skin. Her eyes were almost crimson where mine were grey. Her dark hair was short but not too short, just shorter than mine. She was someone you would think is famous. I smiled at her and followed her out the door.
"May I see your schedule?" She asked.
"Oh, of course. Ere you go." I said handing her the paper.
"Why are you here?" She asked puzzlingly.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"There hasn't been dogs here in ages. So why are you here?"
"Mi mum wants me to find a mate. How do you know what I am?" I asked, but I think I already knew the answer.
"A mate? You can't smell me?"
"Yes a mate, I am to become alpha but I can't do that without a mate. And no I haven't been able to turn."
"Most dogs are already changed by your age."
"I'm half human. If I don't turn by mi birthday I won't be able to take mi mums place."
"Interesting. You come find me at your lunch hour. Here's your class." She said walking in the room with me. "Mr. G, your new student is here." She said walking out the classroom.
"Come Dawn, find a seat and we'll try and figure out where you are in calculus." I nod my head and take a seat at the empty spot in the middle of the room. I'm way ahead of where they are in maths but I didn't want to say anything. My main focus was Silver. What was this girl.
My classes before lunch were a breeze, as I walked into the cafeteria my eyes went searching, I found the crimson eyed beauty and walked over to her. I sat across from her and watched her quietly. Thinking ever so slightly what she was.
"May I ask, if you know I'm a wolf, what are you?"
"Vampire, I'm quite shocked that you couldn't tell. But considering you're half human it makes sense."
"You seem like you don't really care for my kind."
"Our kinda don't get along, but I'm betting you've never had to experience that."
"No, fortunately. Would mi mum be able to smell you on mi?"
"Of course, but there are ways of masking my scent. But the reason I asked you to join me cause I normally don't sit with people here is because you, and me are natural enemies but I'm willing to not let that effect." She pointed between the two of us. I nodded in understanding.
"Perhaps we can be friends." I say knowing that I most likely wouldn't be able to keep it that way. This girl was gorgeous, and probably the only person I've actually been attracted to. I smiled knowing what I was thinking. "I've read a lot about fangs but I never met one until now."
"Be lucky most aren't as nice as I am. So about your whole mate situation how does that work."
"Well it's been mi mum setting me up with the best wolves she can find and I've been turning them all down. I don't want a self centered asshole or someone I'm not physically or mentally attracted to. So I'm here pretty much to find someone on mi own."
"How's that coming along?"
"Considering I've been here a week, and you've been the only person I've talked to outside of my pack, well I'd say it's going great."
"You're attracted to me." She stated. I blushed at that turning shades I didn't even know were possible for my skin tone.
"Physically, yes. You are very nice to look at. Now I just need the mentally And you'd be my perfect match. You know besides the whole me not turning thing."
She smiled at me. "Well I can tell you're a dog because you smell like one, so that's not going to be an issue I can see. But if you want to get to know me, we can talk. It's just going to be very hard with that accent of yours."
"Mi accent is a problem?"
"More of a turn on. I haven't heard someone with an accent in a century."
"How old are you really?" She hit my arm lightly.
"Didn't your mother ever teach you not to ask a lady her age?"
"No, but I'm trying here."
"I'm 238. I've been here a long time."
"And you still come to school?"
"Everything is modernizing, things are not how they were when I was growing up."
"Makes sense. Any children, husbands, wives?"
"No, I haven't been in an actual relationship since I was 18 right before I got turned."
"Would you want to eh, talk about it?"
"Another time. Maybe later. It's not a pleasant story." She said getting up. "Come on Dawn, I've got something to show you."
I got up and followed her.
