Today's the day I tell my dad I'm gay. I walk down the our dark oak stairs to my father's room. The door always scared me. Maybe it had something to do with my mother. But today was different I was scared yes but I was more relieved. I knock three times before my father answers.
"What is it Shoto?" His voice to this day still makes me want to cry. "May I spare a moment of your time to tell you something important?" I say trying to hold my tongue.
"No I am far to busy for you." He was about to close the door when I yelled "I'm gay" I felt his forceful hand fall on my face and leave a swelling pain.
"Is this true?" He ask frustrated.
"Yes" my tone was low and quiet just enough for him to hear. "Get out of my house and never come back. I don't want to even see your face ever again." I ran out of the house without a second thought.
