i'm oblivious.
i'm lost
in my own thoughts.
i'm drowning
by my own tears
that wish to stroll down
my red, scorching cheeks.

ironically
we are all
sixty percent water.
we think we are
perfectly capable of swimming,
but we can't swim forever.
eventually
we all need to gasp for air.

so, we need to take
a few minutes
in our life
to crawl out of our skin,
let everything go,
and breathe.
