What I wouldn't give, to get a call from you.

How my ears would recall the gruff voice that is yours from the other line.
My hands would shake, holding the phone gently beside the face you once touched and swore you loved.

I wouldn't be able to find the right words for the moment, or any words at all.

I would feel the tremble of my lips, and the burning in my eyes from the sadness that feels so nostalgic.

I would bite my tounge so you couldn't hear the cracking of my words, as I try with all my might to hold my composer.

I would reply with a strangers hello, playing the part pretending to have no recognition of the voice that once soothed my aching bones. so as to not sound as heart broken as you left me.
