I woke up with a sigh. That night had not been my best night.

I brushed out my dark brown hair and put my makeup on with a heavy hand. I lolled down the stairs trying to look as attractive as I could just in case Adam was watching. Realizing no one was in the house I calmed a little.

“What’s wrong with these people” I asked to myself.  After walking around the house multiple times looking for Alice, I decided to go outside.

The sun glared into my eyes as I stepped out on to the old wooden porch. There Alice was working in the garden with Adam and my uncle and old cousin May.

“Hi, Sugar” Alice said cheerfully.

“Sorry, dear, you missed breakfast; you have to get up early on a farm”

I stood there shocked! It was only 9:30am!

Before I even had a chance to protest about how early it was  Alice started reintroducing me to my uncle Will and my cousin May.

“This is Sherri.” Alice said. Will held out a grubby hand for me to shake. I tried to act as normally as I could when I shook his hand slowly.  After I was done my disgusting visit with Will, Alice showed me to May. She  was now 15 had blonde hair green eyes and fair skin.

Then Alice started blabbing on about me helping May in the pig barn. That’s when I realized this was not going to be pretty.

May walked up close to me until she was only a foot away. She glared and said in a snarly voice.

“Let’s get started.” And handed me a shovel.

I could not believe it; I was a year older than her! I angrily followed May over to the pig barn; it could not be that bad, could it? But when we got closer I realized I should not have worn my designer skirt and heels.

“You…” May smirked.

“Get to clean out the pig shit.” May laughed.

I took a step into the first stall. Well, there went my designer shoes. I scooped up the first shovel full; it smelt like mouldy leftovers and mud.

Just then May dumped the pigs' slop in the trough right behind me. After that, all I remember is being trampled by a heard of pigs. I woke up ten minuets later covered from head to toe in  shit.

"Well, you picked up most of the pig crap... with your body!" She giggled. I stomped out, making a grand exit.

After multiple showers, I was about ready to go to bed. But that's when Adam caught me in the hallway.

"Your comeing to dinner right?" Adam asked

"Sure." I replied. Maybe this could score me points with him.

I came down stairs dreading what these people would have for dinner. But when I got down I found a pretty normal dinner table. I sat down and joined in on the conversation. Particularly trying to talk to Adam. I had not had a dinner like this since my father died. After dinner I realized where I was and had another rockey sleep.
