Hayley wanted to go search more about her biological parents and pack while Malia just wanted to leave the damn town, especially when a lot of her pack didn't even say anything about Stiles and Lydia doing anything wrong because they were apparently "meant to be together", leaving Malia in the dust. Only Scott and Kira were there for her along with Derek and Hayley.
It was almost a month later when the two got the correct tip, that the birthmark on Hayley's shoulder blade was the mark of a pack of werewolves from New Orleans.
The two made their way to the city and met a witch named Sophie who said she had information about where the pack was. Malia was ultimately fooled and kidnapped by the French Quarter witches as leverage to get the Mikaelson family to do their bidding.
What she hadn't known was that she had gotten pregnant somehow by the original hybrid, though she found out pretty quickly when they told her and used her against the Mikaelson's.
And because of that and her new connection with the original family, Malia Tate was roped into the middle of a war between the witches, vampires, and Mikaelson family.
