There were two thoughts running in my small head as I emptied down my whole stomach in the white marble basin, and Walter tried to hold my rebellious hair up in his one hand and soothed my back with the other.
One, I must meet him today.
Two, I was sorry for whoever's house and basin it was, and I really regret not choosing a toilet instead.
Walter piped, "I told ya."
I wanted to answer back but decided it was better to keep quiet if I didn't want the bile to be rising back again for the umpteenth time. I didn't even eat or drink so much in ten months as much I vomited.
Why did I have to drink all those trash?
Oh yeah, because I had to loosen up. Idiot.
Walter eyed me as I moved away from the basin and tied my hair into a half bun with my shaky hands. "I need to bath," I choked out.
"Yeah, you might also want to come out of that gown of yours." He pointed at my stained and smelly gown which I had worn for a certain someone. Someone I was yet to find.
"Is that a phrase?" My throat felt bitter, and I didn't want him to see me in this way.
Walter rolled his eyes and gestured at me to follow him as he moves through the crowd of drunk men and women. Almost everyone- no, everyone- seemed drunk, which was probably because this party started five hours henceforth.
I could see a couple making out or maybe having sex on the couch as I rode up the stairs behind Walter.
This house owner must replace this couch, or else I'm not coming in his party again. If to be thought in that way then the basin should be replaced too.
I watched as Walter opened at least three doors and slammed it as loudly as possible while cursing under his breath. He opened the fourth door just ask caught the railing as my brain performed a loop.
The next moment Walter was beside me, holding my shoulder. "Are you alright? I told you not to drink all those trash. Tomorrow morning there is a meeting with Mr Hanson, and you need to be there."
I entered the room, and a smell of some expensive cologne hit my nose; the room was perfectly arranged as if no one ever stepped in here. "Cancel the meeting, I have to_"
"As it's the first meeting in Texas your Dad would be there, Aveline." Walter opened the bathroom door which revealed a brand new and clean room. It seemed as if nobody lived in this room or no one ever used this washroom, save for the toiletries.
"I don't care. I'm not going." I lied and shut the door quickly after me in a way as if I'm trying to get rid of his words.
"And in the afternoon you also have another client to meet and_wait, where is your phone Aveline?"
I could imagine him frowning, which made me smirk even though he wouldn't see. It indeed was weird not having that damn phone ringing every five minutes, but it was even weirder that it took more than five minutes for Walter- my personal assistant-to find that out. There was only one thing that could make Walter unmindful.
