The first Christmas they spent together, Shota had gifted Miyuki with the legal adoption papers. They had been finalized two week prior but he had not received the papers until Christmas Eve. When she opened her gift, it was as if someone had plucked the stars from the sky and put them in her eyes.

The second Christmas they spent together, he gifted her with two bows. One to place in her hair while the other to tie around her tail. She had also got a gift for him, wrapped in a small blue box. Upon opening, he was gifted with a dead pigeon... he then proceeded to throw the box out and ban dead animals from the house. (For his previous birthday she had given him a dead mouse.)

Now, it was their third Christmas and he had no clue what to get her. She wasn't a hard child to please, which made it hard to buy her anything. He could literally gift her with a head rub and she would be happy. She was too young for a phone, and definitely too young for make-up.

Currently, he was walking around the city looking for a gift, while Hizashi ((Present Mic)) took her to look for a gift in the mall. Not much was catching his interest for her, there were small little trinkets here and thereabout nothing too major. He'd been walking around for a few hours now, looking through some windows and stopping at a few stores, but nothing really spoke out to him.

It wasn't until he was passing a jewelry store that he actually made a purchase. He walked out of the store feeling rather accomplished, though his neutral face didn't change. Satisfied with his purchase, he started making his way back home.

Miyuki was walking next to Hizashi, her tail wrapped around his wrist. This was her way of holding hands without the actual physical contact. Hizashi was talking animately, pointing out things Shota might like while also saying he would like anything she got him, maybe.

"Mi-chan, do you have anything in mind?"

They came to a stop at the front of the mall. They had walked around seven different times, each time Hizashi lead her away from any and all inappropriate stores. He didn't mind, Miyuki was his niece and he would walk around the mall all week if she wanted to.

When she gave a disappointed shake of her head he let out a soft hum and looked around. A smile stretched across his face as he raised his hand that her tail wasn't wrapped on and rubbed her head. He received an approving purr not moments later.

"Don't worry about. How about we walk around one more time and if you don't see anything we can stop for a lunch break before continuing, alright?"

"...okay."

They started to walk again, Hizashi picking up where he had left off on gift ideas. Miyuki was really looking, she wanted to get Shota something she knew he would like. She had seen a few things, and yes while he would like them, she didn't think he would use them, or at least no as much as she would like him to.

Her eyes zeroed in on an object that was on display, and had her tail been free it would have flicked side to side. She came to a stop in front of the display window. Hizashi came to a stop beside her, eyeing the object she was looking at.

"Hiza-oji, I want to get this for Papa," Mizuki said pointing at it.

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm."

Hizashi stared at her for a few more seconds before a smile broke out and he raised his fist.

"Alright, let's go!"

It was morning...afternoon, when the Aizawa resident woke up on Christmas day. Shota and Miyuki worked on making breakfast together then eating before exchanging gifts. The two agreed on only one gift for Christmas since both their birthdays were at the end of the year, Shota's being November 8 and Miyuki's being December 10.

Miyuki opened her's first, neatly pulling the purple ribbon off before tearing open the wrapping. A black square jewelry box rested in her hands, her brown eyes found Shota's in utter confusion. She didn't have any jewelry so what would she need this for?

"Open the box," Shota instructed.

And she did, lifting the lid to reveal a, collar?

"A collar?"

"It's called a choker."

"Oh."

The choker resembled the collar of a button-up shirt, made from some form of black leather with a small crescent moon on each of its corners. A larger silver crescent moon rested in the middle and a buckle in the back to keep it on. The more Miyuki stared at the choker the more she liked it. She had been treated like an animal for so long that not all of those instincts were gone, and she felt they never would be. But to receive something similar to a collar, she felt like now she was truly cared about and part of the family. Not that she hadn't before, but its similar to buying a collar for a dog or actual cat, when you buy it and place it on them, they officially become family.

Before she knew tears had welled up in her eyes and a smile had stretched across her face. Shota, who had been silently watching her, had his eye wide open in shock. He knew she would like it, but he didn't think she would cry over it, much less smile.

"Papa, can you help me put it on?"

Shota numbly nodded and Miyuki moved to sit in front of him. Once he buckled it on he rubbed her head earning an approving purr.

"Your turn now Papa, open your gift."

Shota easily opened his gift and was surprised to find a yellow sleeping bag. He raised an eyebrow at his daughter in question, and she was more than glad to respond.

"It's a sleeping bag so you don't have to carry around a pillow and blanket to go to sleep whenever you want."

Shota once again rubbed her head, receiving another purr of approval. They then turned to the Christmas tree, wrapped presents littered the floor around it. Most were for Miyuki from the school faculty, but most of them were from Hizashi. Both of them sighed, it was going to be a long afternoon.
