Ethan POV

I woke up to the sun beaming in my eyes and a massive migraine

I looked over to see a whiskey bottle in my hand

"I'm gonna drink myself to death" I said getting up slowly

I set down the whiskey bottle and got up going to the bathroom and looking at myself in the mirror

I had dark bags under my eyes and my hair was a tangled mess

My heart began to ache as I thought of my mate

I lit a cigarette taking a large drag of it feeling the smoke fill my lungs

I needed her close to me even if she hated me i couldn't stand being this far from her

I finished the cigarette stomping it out on my floor and took a shower searching through my clothes

I threw on my grey hoodie and black Nike sweatpants and my slides

I ran out to my car and began to drive to her house

I got to her house and went to the door knocking

The door opened and a beautiful woman I assumed was her mom answered

She had brown curly hair and blue eyes she looked very young

"Is makayla here" I asked

She sniffed the air and smiled

"You're her mate aren't you" she said making my eyes go wide

"H-how did you-" she cut me off

"Darling I have a sense" she said winking she opened the door and gestured me in

I came in and stood

"Come with me" she said and I followed her upstairs to makaylas bedroom and she walked in

Makayla was asleep on her bed curled up

My heart began to flutter and her mom walked towards her sitting on the bed

"Makayla sweetheart" she said causing makaylas eyes to slowly open

She looked at her mom smiling then at me and her eyes widened

She sat up looking confused

"I'll let you talk" she said kissing makaylas forhead and walking out

"Can I sit" I said she stayed quiet nodding slightly

I sat down and looked at her

"Mak let me start over give me a chance to be your mate I'm nothing without you when you're not around all I do is drink and fuck everything up more" I said she looked at me still silent

"I need you"  I finished looking into her beautiful eyes 

"Ethan im trying to hate you because all you are is an insensitive asshole who only cares about himself but...I can't" she said pausing for a second

"You really mess with my head Ethan I can't get over who you were before... All I can think about is you and amanda " A pained look written all over her beautiful face

"Amanda means nothing to me" I said feeling guilty

"Then...why" she said no longer looking at me
