Mars, Year 2099
Intro of the incident (2089 pov)
The oxygen explosion on mercury led to the end of peace between worlds. The Topes 'oxidized' and have gone mad. The Opis are not safe, the Novas are not safe, and earthlings are not safe either. There's no way that everyone will survive.
-------------------------------10 years later-------------------------------------
Tiny reflections of the blazing sun shined through the bars of my cage. It was time to wake up. I peeked through my eyelids, exausted. This prison was only stone instead of the slightly padded floor I was used to in my old one. The Topes sent everyone 18 years and younger to this prison and since I was 14, I fit that catagory.
"Get up!" scolded the guard.
He threw me against the wall and I yelped in pain. Once I stood up he removed my chains. This was my life now and forever, unless I could escape. This is crazy, how come oxygen only affected Topes? He shoved me into the line of Opis and some other guards led us to the yard outside. There they started shoving us around and calling us names.
"STOP! YOU DEMENTED OXIDIZED TOPES!"
I quickly realized what I did and my hand flew over my mouth, but it was too late. A female Tope charged over to me and grabbed my collar.
"Opi state your Identity."
"Sabrina." I said sternly.
"Repeat what you said, Sabrina."
What the? The Topes only kill us not question us.
"This is our planet. Our right to live here and you could too...without this destruction!"
All of them started busting out laughing. My face turned a deep shade of red.
"You disguting little IMP! You don't know anything!" She scolded.
"I do actually."
I kicked at the soldier as hard as I could and she winced in pain. The prison wasn't finished yet and there was an opening through the electric fence wide enought that I could fit thorugh. Suddenly I heard the pounding footsteps of Opis running behind me. It was a rebellion. Action was finally being taken. The only question now was if we would survive or not.
----------------Timeskip---------------
We ran and ran for hours in the heat. My heart was pounding out of my chest urging me for a break. People began to slow down, but I knew that I couldn't stop. The Topes haven't come for us yet, which was good news, but that does not mean they gave up. By now all we needed to do was get to the Novas on Venus and we could be free. I knew that the Topes could not step foot into Venus or they will be intoxicated immediatly. I turned around and looked at the huge crowd of people who must of joined during our run. I had to admit they looked much nicer than us. I bet they were hiding from being taken into the prisons. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder and stopped. It was a boy Opi with dark hair and big black eyes.
"You are very brave. Thank you for helping us get free."
"I appreciate it, but the journey is not even close to being done." I replied.
He ran up next to me. "Where are we going? Because we sure as heck can't stay here."
"My plan is Venus. Do you have any space shuttles we can use or that you know of?"
"I have a workshop filled with space pods that can hold about 15 people each, max."
"Lead us there! By the way what's your name?"
"Joseph."
"Well lets go! Oh and mine's Sabrina."
He ran ahead of me and led the group. I followed him feeling a sense of hope that was really energizing. Before I knew it I was running next to him with a huge smile on my face.
