1)In Italy the Christmas period does not begin the fourth weekend before December 25, but it is customary to coincide with the beginning of the holidays with the day of the Immaculate Conception, December 8. Usually we Italians spend this day of celebration for do the tree, presents and to decorate our homes.// In Italia il periodo natalizio non comincia il quarto week end prima del 25 dicembre, ma si è soliti far coincidere l'inizio delle festività con il giorno dell'Immacolata concezione, l'8 dicembre. Solitamente noi italiani passiamo questa giornata di festa (scuole e uffici rimangono chiusi) ad addobbare l'albero, a fare regali e a decorare le nostre case.

2) While we wait calmly that time is running out and Christmas is coming, another co-interest is very much felt in some parts of Italy, we are talking about Santa Lucia falling on December 13th.  She is the patron saint of Syracuse. She is also the protector of blind people and people suffering from eye diseases. She brings '' LIGHT '' where it is dark and brings LOVE where it is not there.She really existed in the past. Today, however, women dress up and bring candy and presents to children (a bit like Santa Claus).// Mentre si aspetta con calma che il tempo faccia il suo corso e che il giorno di Natale arrivi, un'altra coincidenza viene molto sentita in alcune parti d'Italia, stiamo parlando di Santa Lucia che cade il 13 dicembre. E' la patrona di Siracusa. Ed è anche la protettrice dei ciechi e delle persone affette da malattie oculari. Lei, porta "LUCE" dove è buio e porta AMORE dove non c'è . E' realmente esistita nel passato. Oggi, tuttavia, le donne si vestono e portano caramelle e regali ai bambini (un po' come Babbo Natale).
