Rejection and Humiliation

//LANCE'S POV\\

"Allura you are the best thing in my entire life and I can't even think about living without you" I stood up pushing my chair gently away, kneeling on one foot in front of Allura with everyone watching at the dinner table. "I'll forever be by your side, you are the one thing in my life that I can love without feeling like a 5th wheel, so" I took a red velvet box out, and Allura starting to cry and I started to cry too, the problem was, was that Allura didn't seem happy. 

"Lance" she looked down at me with a face of sadness but I still smiled and continued "Allura will you be my wife" everyone at the table was screeching, even Keith. "Lance I c-can't" everyone was quiet and my once red face became white, just like the snow out the window.

 "Wh-what" tears were starting to fall down my face, I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. Shiro started to get up "Allura this isn't the right time-" Allura turned her head around and ran off to her room in the castle.

 I watched her leave me on one knee and got up taking a quick glance at Keith, seeing his face in confusion and tilting his head to go run after her. I obeyed him and ran straight after her as quickly as I could yelling her name.

//KEITH'S POV\\

I watched him run after her confused but Veronica held my hand tightly. "She'll be fine it was probably just cold feet," Pidge said interrupting the silence. Then I remembered what Shiro said thinking of the worst to come in mind "Shiro what do you mean" I stared at him dead in the eyes waiting for a response through the silence.

"Well, I and Allura noticed something about Lance and she was about to break up with him after this dinner but well Lance you know..." Shiro responded and my relief went away 'til I thought about what he said "What-" I was rudely interrupted by Pidge "Is he ok? Is he sick? What do you mean "something about Lance," Pidge said in a mimicking voice at the end. Shiro hesitated before answering, letting his shoulders relax and taking in a deep breath "He's ok, he's not sick... It's just we think that he's in love with someone" Everyone went silent.

"Rightttt with Allura we already knew that" Hunk replied and everyone just stared at him like he's an idiot. Then finally my girlfriend replied "With someone else Hunk" 

My voice got all high pitched and screeching like "What do you mean "someone else" he's been in love with Allura since he first met her!" I said defending him. "Who in the world would he be in love with???" I asked in a higher tone of voice, "I-I can't say, we both agreed that we wouldn't say anything else unless Lance said we could".

Veronica rolled her eyes in the way that I knew she was about to get riled up "Oh wow how adult you are defending him! He's my brother I'm sure I'll get it out of him and give up on this girl so he can be happy with Allura" Shiro looked at her with his face saddened.

"You might not want to do that" he didn't say much after that "Defender of the Universe more like the Defender of Lan-" Pidge started to say until she saw Lance coming down the Hallway and saw his tear-stained face. I got up to go comfort him but as soon as I reached to him "Get. Away. Keith" his face already red pushing me ruffly out of the way walking past me "But Lance I was-". 

I stopped as soon as I saw him turn around, "All you ever do is mess up my life" Everyone stared at him motionless" What?" I asked "I want you to stop giving me advice! I want you to stop! Just stop BEING HERE AROUND ME!" He raised his voice when I touched his shoulder. He ran off angrily after he grabbed his jacket, I turned to look at everyone as Veronica was in shock.

"What ju-just happened..." all the attention was on her "What do you mean what just happened?? Lance does this all the time and then when Keith tries to help him Lance pushes- him- away-" Pidge started to fade off in the sentence like she realized something. "What?" I asked curiously, "Nothing" Pidge replied quickly, "He never did this at home, and by never I MEAN never" I start to realize what Pidge was thinking.

"Oh, he had to stay PG around you guys because you had little kids in the family. So when he 'left' he was finally away and he got all his temper out" I smiled finally realizing where all his rage was from. "That doesn't sound logical..."Pidge said but I ignored her, I can finally confront him and try to help him. I smiled to myself proudly even though no one looked at me like I was right, I knew I was right.
