Prologue - Recurring Memories

"Mum when are we going to grandma's?" I whined.

Mum was standing in front of the mirror putting on her earrings. She chuckled as she smiled at me using the mirror to see me sprawled on the bed in annoyance.

"Go see what your father is doing. Besides, I'm nearly done." She said as she was applying lipstick.

I walked down into the lounge room.

"Dad?"

I walked into the kitchen.

"Dad?"

I walked outside.

"Dad?"

"I'm here." He called out.

I walked to the driveway where he was polishing the family car. It was a silver 2018 Isuzu MU-X.

(^Just an example. It can be what ever you want as it'll be mentioned probably only once or twice.)

"Dad. Why do we got to dress so nicely? We're only going to grandma's house." I said.

"Grandma wants to take us out to dine at Gustè's. We got to look a part or we might not get a table." Said Dad.

"Oh okay." I replied.

Gustè's was a fancy restaurant that opened up in the town where grandma lives a few months ago. I've never been so I guess it will be fun.

"Hey Matty!" Called out a very familiar person as she scooted in the driveway on her mountain bike.

"Hey Danni!" I said as I ran up to her giving her a high five.

She wore a white shirt with black ripped jeans and black converses. She had long black raven hair and bright green eyes.

"Who's mountain bike is that may I ask?" I asked.

I knew that she owned a scooters and BMX bikes but not a mountain bike.

"Oh this? I stole it from my older brother. He'll kill me later on but oh well I may as well get as much of a joy ride as I can." She smiled.

I laughed. Danni or formally Danielle is my one and only best friend. We hang out at the skate park a lot in our spare time as we're both really into that sort of thing. We're both currently 15 and our birthdays are literally two days apart, her being older by two days. That's why when it comes to decisions she is the adult of us two. We always had our birthdays on the day in between our birthdays as a combined event ever since we were like 3.

"It would be good if I could join you on your joy ride but you know." I said.

"Yes and I hope you have fun." She said.

"Yeah I wish that I could either join you or you join me." I said.

"You got to visit your grandmother, she'd be devastated if you didn't. Plus I have to babysit my sister too which reminds me." She replied.

"Can't you get your brother to look after Felicia? I can get my mountain bike and we can go up in the hills." I pretty much begged.

"Dan is at his girlfriend's house. That's where I stole his bike." She said.

I smiled as I pictured her pinching her brother's bike.

"Matthew!" Said Mum from the car.

I had been talking to Danni that much that I hadn't realized that Mum and Dad were waiting for me in the car.

"I'll be on my way then." She said before we did our hand shake.

I honestly couldn't tell you what the steps are as they're fast and complicated. We just did it one day and it just flowed.
