Dick age 7, Wally age 9

"Are you sure that he should be here?" The lady at the front desk asks pointing to Dick.

"Yes he does now put him in the system" the social worker says annoyed.

"Very well, and what about you officer aren't you supposed to be in Central City?" the lady questions.

"That I am miss, but all of the detention centers over there are full and I have been given the go ahead to place hime here" The officer tells her.

The woman at the front desk eyes the other adults skeptically before sighing.

"very well I'll put them together" She relents "Folders please"

Both the adults hand over the folders with the boys personal information, she looks a Dicks first giving him a look of pity before looking at Wallys and giving the officer a look of disgust, but the officer wasn't paying attention so he didn't see it. the woman then began typing putting the information into the system.

The silence in the room could be cut with a butter knife. The only sound was the click of the keys on the keyboard. The woman paused for a minuet looking at both the boys faces then the adults, seeing as they did not care she continued. Finally after what felt like hours the woman stoped typing and looked up.

"Ok, there in. now Richard, Wallace if you could please go though there the guard will help you get your close and show you to your cell. I'm very sorry for both of you."

With that she stoped talking. Both the adults pushed, roughly, the boys into the other room. The guard in the other room then lead them to another room with the orange jumpsuits in it. He got them their sizes and had them change. Then gave them the shoes that they would where before exiting that room into a hallway. At the end there was a metal door that the guard opened with the badge he had. Once on the other side the boys looked around seeing as they where in what looked to be a meeting room, with circle tables spread out. They continued on until they got to a hallway with the cells. Some had boys other girls, but they all ether had looks of disgusts aimed at the guard or curiosity at the two young boys with him.

When they got to an empty cell the guard stoped and opened it allowing the boys to enter before closing it. The boys sat on the two bottom bunks across from each other just looking at the ground letting what happened sink in.

Dick looked up seeing as the boy, who he now new as Wallace, was silently crying, he decided to see if he could cheer him up said,

"Hey, my names Richard but my friends call me Dick"

At hearing the nickname Wallace looked up at the boy with a half smile. Seeing this Dick decided to ask

"So what did you do to end up in a place like this" in his most western accent he could muster.

This made Wallace smile more but it didn't quite reach his eyes, so Dick figured that he wouldn't talk about it, but to his surprise Wallace started to talk.

"My names Wallace but I would like it if you call me Wally, and I got here because m-my father k-killed my m-mother but blamed it-t on me, surprise surprise they believe the adult and put me in here" He said the last part a little sarcastically but continued "Anyway Dick what did you do to be put in here?"

At this Dicks eyes started to water but the smile never left his face, and Wally saw this he ran over to him and pulled Dick closer to his own body. But Dick never the less started talking,

"My-My parents and I were trapeze artists, called the Flying Grayson's, but one night before we were about to go on this man came and threatened the circus saying if we didn't pay him then we would be in danger, we didn't believe him of course but later that night when I was about to jump to my mom who was on the trapeze the rope, it-it broke and they fell." at this point Dick was crying into Wallys shirt, Wally was just there rubbing nothing circles on his back letting him cry "W-when I got back on the ground they were dead, my parents dead. The social worker apparently thought I would corrupt the kids at the orphanage's in the city because I'm a gypsy so she put me here"

"Hey, hey its not all that bad, you met me and I met you" Wally said looking Dick in the eyes

At this statement a smile spread across the face of both the boys with Dick agreeing

"Ya, your right, its not that bad"

With the comfortable silence surrounding the boys the lights suddenly went out with the guards yelling lights out. The boys didn't detach from each other they just laid with theirs arms around the other and fell asleep.
