   Recap:

"We haven't had a new kid at our school for a very long time, you have been hyped up."

"Hopefully I can live up to the hype." You both laughed.

"I think you will." He added smiling

You smiled blushing a little.

"What's your first class?" Tom asked as you both approached the large school.

"Uhm," You started feeling your pockets starting to panic. "Augh no! I left it on my bed." Shit! You thought.

"Hey, don't worry we can go to the office and have them print out another one." He said reassuringly.

You looked back at him, his chocolate eyes sucked you in. you had never seen eyes like his before; when the light hit the just right it looked like you were looking into a vat of golden honey. "Uh sorry," you said, finally snapping out of it. "Thank you, I am so glad we ran into each other."

"Same here," He said smiling.

*You arrive at school*

Tom opened the front door of the school and held it open for you. What a gentleman. You thought.

"Thanks."

You followed Tom through the large halls to the front office.

"Hi, Mrs. Beds," Tom said to the lady at the desk.

"Hi, Tom who's this?" Mrs. Beeds asks.

"Hi," you say. "I'm y/n y/l/n, I left my schedule at home and Tom said I could get another one here."

"Of course, first-day jitters?" She asked. You nodded looking around the large and very well decorated office

"Here you go!" Mrs. Beeds said handing you a sheet of paper still warm from the printer.

You and Tom walked out of the office, the large halls were still relatively quiet with only a few kids standing at lockers talking.

"Hey!" You say as Tom snatches the paper from your hands.

"Let's see, hmm, we have maths, gym, and bio together." He said a bit proud of himself for snatching your schedule.

"You're lucky you didn't give me a paper cut." You said laughing. "Now give it back so I can see what my first class is." You added still laughing

"You have ELA, I'll walk you there," Tom said.

"Tom, what's that?" You say. As he turned his head to look at what you pointed to you steal your schedule back.

"Hey," he says pretending to be mad.

"Hey what, it's my schedule." You said laughing.

"Ugh, fine," He said bumping you playfully with his shoulder. "Here's your class, I'll come back at the end and walk with you to gym." He said with a big smile on his face. You waved and walked into class.

You hoped that you would do some work during class but all you could think about was Tom. He was totally flirting with you. You thought. Never mind, he probably has a girlfriend with the way he looks, he was just being nice. Thoughts kept racing through your mind. Your head was playing a game of he loves me, he loves me not on loop for the entirety of the class.

The bell rung shattering your thoughts. "Y/n can I see you for a minute?" The teacher said as everyone packed up. You grabbed your backpack and went up to his desk.

"You seem a little out of it, are you understanding the material?" He asked

"Yes everything is making sense I'm just missing home, I promise I'll pay more attention, next class," You say.

"Do you need any help reading your schedule or finding your next class?" He asked.

"I've got a great tour guide but thank you." You said laughing.

"See you tomorrow!" Your teacher said as you walked out.

You walk out the door and find Tom leaning against the lockers. "Hey you," He started. "So, I'm a tour guide now?

"Oh, you heard that?" You said a bit embarrassed

"Every word. How was ELA?"

"Fine." You said. Your head went back to playing the game of he loves me, he loves me not. You could feel the smile slip off your face.

"Is everything ok y/n? You don't seem as happy as this morning."

"I'm fine." You said, still looking at the floor.

"Okay," Tom said not quite believing you.

-Tom's POV-

I didn't really believe y/n when she said that she was fine. Something was on her mind and it bugged me not knowing what it was. I looked at her as she was walking beside me. The sun peeked out from behind a cloud and shone on her beautiful face. All morning I couldn't stop thinking about how happy I am that I stopped when I saw her at the corner. And thanks to my slick moves and impeccable timing I 'stole' her schedule I and memorized her classes. I wanted to be near her, her smile and her laugh lit up my world. With her around my world was finally bright and happy. Her presence fought off the darkness that had consumed me since the events of last year. Every class that I didn't have with her felt like an eternity. Shit! I thought, I really really like her
