Struggling to push the creature off me, I tried to regain my breathing at its normal rate.
Despite having a pair of razor teeth just inches away from my neck. Stretching my arm to reach my sword seems practically impossible. The handle was too far from my grasp. I felt every bone of my body tremble as a ghost bumps crawled behind my neck. Suddenly I felt the creature was ripped away from me. Quickly blinking, trying to understand what just happen. All I could see in the dark room of nightmare were a pair of red blood eyes staring into my soul. My name is Alice Upshaw and this is how I became best friends with the most wanted criminal.

I gasp as I felt the cold water the moment the water touch my skin. Trench from head to toe including my blue covers. Sending a nasty glare that would make the Devil cower in fear, to the person who committed the evil act, my sister Lithia. She gave me a careless shrug as if she had nothing to lose. "Sorry sis but you just would not wake up. School starts in an hour, get ready or dad is leaving without you" she said. "Okay I will get up, now leave" I replied with a sigh.
She gives me a timid smile before leaving. Even though I wanted to stay angry at her I just couldn't. I let out a groan before standing up from the bed. Rubbing my left eye as I look for my thick black glasses in my nightstand. I was just a bit nearsighted but to keep my eyes sight from going worse I made sure to wear them at all times.
I slowly dragged my feet toward my drawers. Quickly dressing up for school. I wore a red shirt and black pants, slipping on some white tennis shoes. While looking for my backpack, I spot my phone next to it on the floor. One of this days I will lose dam phone or break it. I started walking down the stairs to the wonderful place call kitchen. While going down, I give a quick glance at the few pictures we owned. We did not really have many pictures. When I reached downstairs, I saw my da drinking a cup of coffee at the breakfast bar. Dad was not the stereotypical dads on the movies. He likes drinking coffee while watching old 80's cartoons. My sister, Lithia was sitting next to him eating a grilled cheese sandwich. I placed my backpack in an empty chair on the right side of Lithia. "Hey, kid. How was the wakeup call?" my dad asked. His eyes still glued to the television.
From the corner of my eye, I could see a clearly see a sly smirk from him. Then everything clicks making more sense. "It was your idea after all", I said in a monotone voice. Pausing for a few minutes before saying in the most sarcastic voice, " I love the idea of a cold shower in the morning while sleeping. How did you know?" Dad let out a chuckle before replying " I can not take all the credit for myself. Your sister came up with the plan." I glared at my two family members while making a cup of coffee. It seemed as if I was their source of entertainment. I grab my cup of coffee and two pieces of toast that were in the toaster. After debating with myself I chose to sit down and eat with them. We ate breakfast in a silence for a couple of minutes before going out.
Dad stood up, placing his cup gently in the sink before heading out to the door. He yelled out while grabbing his car keys, "come on kids or else will be late." Lithia and I quickly got our backpack and follow dad to the car. When we walk out the door the sunlight burns my eyes. I quickly blink trying to see. Before I was a neighborhood, almost every house was identical to each other. It was still early meaning there was no sign of anyone still. This seems to be a bit different from our old house. There was no fence and we actually had a front yard for once. "Take a picture, it will last longer!" I heard my sister yelled out, snapping me from my thoughts.
I rolled my eyes and got inside the black car. "First day of school at your new school. Are you guys nervous?" , my dad asks both Leithia and me. My sister smiled at dad and replied with excitement, "I am really excited and nervous." "You will be fine. You will make friends in no time" dad said with a grin. I knew for sure that Lithia would easily make friends, she is that kind of person. My dad turned to me and asked me " what about you? How do you feel?" I look at him with a blank face before replying " I feel okay. I guess?" My dad sighed and said, "I know it was hard to move but it was for the best, you know why. We can not do much about it."
I look at him and nodding, no longer knowing what to say We pull in the driveway of Michael Middle School for a couple of minutes. Lithia grabs her bag and says "Bye. I will see you after school" before leaving the car. She got off and we saw her slowly fade into the sea of students. My dad drove off to our next destination Jamestown high school. It was at least three times bigger than my old school. At least from what I see from the pictures. We drive for a few minutes in silence. Dad pulls through a drive-thru of a coffee shop. From what you can tell we were coffee addicts.
He orders two cups of coffee, he then, hands me a cup. I stare at the cup of my coffee in my lap and muttered "thanks." My dad hums in response and pulls into the parking lot of the coffee shop. I sigh having a feeling where all of this might go. "Alice I know that all of this hard for both Lithia and you. I wish I could give guys had a better life than this. My job is quite dangerous. There is nothing I can do about it now" he said. "It 's not about your job. I know how much you love it. Moving from house to house is the problem. We move more times than I can count. What about Lithia? One day she will get tired of moving", I said, trying not to breaking down.
Blinking the tear quickly away. He sits without saying anything for a couple of minutes, " I am sorry", I heard him say. "It is an okay dad. It is not your fault, your boss sends you to travel for work. It's your job, I understand", I said with a smile. I glance to see him return the smile. We leave the parking lot and drive off to Jamestown High School. I kept telling myself everything will be fine as we drive off to my new high school.
