7. newly-weds

Chang Sheng sighed and ran a hand over his perfect face. "I know it's technically my fault..." Chang Sheng grumbled. "It's just still so... irritating!"

Court Official Gu stared at Chang Sheng. 

Then he spluttered. 

Chang Sheng raised an eyebrow. "What...?" He frowned. 

Court Official Gu burst out laughing. "Heavens above... you're jealous! Bwahahahahaha this is hilarious! You are like a prepubescent girl who has just found out her favorite male celebrity has a lover! You are like a -"

"Shut up, Gu," Chang Sheng hissed. "Besides, at age sixteen, weren't you the one who was depressed for three months after finding out that Li Hei (famous poet) had a wife?"

Court Official Gu: "..."

"Hmph," Chang Sheng snorted in return. 

"Chang Sheng, don't you have royal duties?" Court Official Gu retorted. 

"Chang Sheng, is that you?" Yu Hua peeked over the bushes right at them. 

"AHHH -" Court Official Gu screeched. 

"As always, you scream as if your vocal cords are undeveloped," Chang Sheng muttered. "Yu Hua!" He jumped up brightly, then scowled as he saw Hong Huo in Yu Hua's arms. Hong Huo glared back at the Emperor. 

"Remember - " Chang Sheng glared at the bunny. "I caught you. Not the other way around." 

The bunny snorted, turning its head away in a haughty manner. 

"Chang Sheng," Yu Hua sniffled. Chang Sheng turned towards Yu Hua, horrified at how sad his little wife sounded. "Yu Hua had missed you. If you were here and not busy, why didn't you tell Yu Hua earlier?"

"Yu Hua," Chang Sheng said softly, voice heartbroken. His little wife's eyes had become teary, luminescent and full. Yu Hua's chestnut eyes glittered even more with the tears. 

Chang Sheng first picked Hong Huo up off Yu Hua's arms, walked the bunny over to an empty chair, and dropped it off. Hong Huo glared at Chang Sheng. Chang Sheng then promptly turned back around and enveloped Yu Hua into a warm hug. 

"I'm sorry, Yu Hua," Chang Sheng said softly, putting a thumb up to Yu Hua's eyes. "Don't cry, okay?" Yu Hua closed his eyes, nodding, as the tears dripped down. Chang Sheng wiped the tears away and pressed his mouth to Yu Hua's, enveloping the boy's soft lips. "Your mouth is so soft," Chang Sheng murmured, feeling his skin get tingly with the desire to touch Yu Hua. Yu Hua pulled away, blushing hard. 

"Why'd you get a bunny Chang Sheng, when you already have the horniness of one?"

Chang Sheng glowered, turning to throw a glare at Court Official Gu. "I. Will. Kill you. Not doing so ten years ago was a mistake on my part." He gritted out. 

"Come on," Court Official Gu teased. "I did well in helping you swat away the camels."

"What camels?" Yu Hua asked in confusion. 

Chang Sheng sent a glare at Court Official Gu that said, I will actually kill you.  

"T - the camels from Egypt! They have amazing stamina for pursuing." Court Official Gu started to sweat and hurriedly began to fan himself. "I - I mean for running! Egypt is so far away..." Court Official Gu wilted on the spot. 

Chang Sheng glared at Court Official Gu one more time. 

"Yu Hua," Chang Sheng murmured. Yu Hua looked up in surprise just as Chang Sheng brought his mouth to his again. They kissed passionately, Yu Hua feeling light-headed.
