Clothes are scattered all over the place
As usual
But I ended up wearing an all black suit paired with a black feathery eye mask

And it would help me run as fast as I can once I take Nancy away with me

Nancy's POV
"Are you sure you want to do this?" asked Brenda unnie
"I don't have a choice, do I?"
"Of course you have a choice, Aenaen. If you would just listen to me. I can take you away from here"
"I appreciate the offer, unnie. But it's too late. And besides, I no longer have a reason to back out" I said while putting my earrings on
"Your happiness is at stake, Aenaen. You still have time"
I looked at her and said "I can no longer be happy.. Let's go before dad gets mad. Charlie must be waiting"

Yeonwoo's POV
The party has already started when I entered the ballroom
It's full of people dancing, who are most likely part of Mr Mcdonie's company
The receptionist asked for my name and checked on the list
Jennie didn't say anything about it, but surprisingly my name is on it

"This way, ma'am" the usherette guided me to a table and handed me a glass of champagne
I looked around to check if Nancy is there
But she's nowhere to be found
My attention was caught when the emcee of the event spoke
"Alright! Everyone having fun?" he asked
"Yeah!" the crowd said in unison
"Great! But let's cut that shortly as our CEO has an important announcement to make. Let's give a hand for Mr Richard Mcdonie!"
Everyone applauded as Mr Mcdonie went on stage
"Thank you. Thank you" he said gesturing everyone to cease from clapping
"First of all, I want to thank all of you for coming. Specially to the staff who worked so hard to make this event happen"
Another round of applause was given by the crowd
"It's been 3 years since we have merged with the company owned by my business partner, and my best bud, Mr. Charles Puth Sr."
Mr. Puth, who was seated in front, bowed as the camera focused on him
"And now we're making a big move, not for the company, but for both our families"
I listened closely to what he is about to say
"It's no secret to everyone that his son and my daughter have been dating for years now"
My throat stiffen as I think I know where this is going
"You may have already heard about it" he continued "But tonight, I would like to make a formal announcement of their engagement"
And there it goes.. the saddest news I never wanted to hear
"Ladies and gentlemen, my ever so lovely daughter, Nancy.. and my soon to be son in law, Charlie"
Nancy walked on stage hand in hand with Mr One Call Away
Everyone stood up clapping, howling, and some even whistling
While I stayed seated drinking champagne
The waitress must have sensed I'm not enjoying the scene, that she gave me one full bottle of champagne
"Thank you.." I said looking at her name tag
"It's Meghan" she said
"Thanks, Meghan"
"You're welcome.. I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't like what's going on" the waitress gave me a bitter smile "Did he promise you forever, too?" she asked
"Excuse me?"
"Did he break your heart too?" she said looking at the guy who's holding Nancy's hand
With the looks of it, I can say she's someone romantically involved with that Attention seeker
"Uh, no.. well.. somehow he does.. but it's not him" I said as I chug another glass of champagne
"Then why are you here?"
Yeah.. why am I still here?
Do I like torturing myself this much?
I looked at her and said, "I'm here for someone.. Care to join me in my sorrow?"
She chuckled "I wish I could. But I'm still, you know, at work. Enjoy the champagne" she said as she went back on duty

Nancy's POV
This has been a hard day for me
Dad already announced my engagement with Charlie, which I agreed to be a part of
I've just put myself into a pit where I can no longer escape
Unless someone would come here and save me
But I guess that's not possible anymore
I was wandering around the ballroom to get rid of my father's shadow, when someone suddenly grabbed my wrist and took me to the fire exit
"Ah!! Let go of me!" I said as I try to escape from her grip
"Hey, hey, Nancy, stop it. It's me" she said as she took her mask off
I couldn't believe my eyes
It's the person I've been praying for to save me
"D-Dabin.." I still couldn't help myself calling her that way
"Yeah.. It's me" she said smiling at me
Our eyes locked and I swear my heart would jump out of my chest anytime soon
"W-what are you doing h- hmp" she didn't let me finish asking as she already leaned forward and owned my lips
"D-Da-"
"Stop talking" she commanded and continued kissing me
I tried to escape, but my heart and mind betrayed me
