A bluejay softly sang its songs in the early hours of the rainy morning. In a large bramble opening below the jay, slept a terribly wounded dragon. As the Jay watched the dragon it noticed the beast was asleep, that was until two squirrels leapt from branch to branch over the beast's head, raindrops splashing all over it's head. The beast lifted its scaly black head and let out a weak roar of annoyance at the scurrying rodents, but almost immediately afterwards its head crashed back down to the ground, it groaned tiredly as mud splashed all over its face.

The Jay continued to sing it's morning songs and eventually felt the dragon watching contently, the pained beast's ears flicked in enjoyment, the Jay continued singing noticing how its songs relaxed the beast and eventually out of curiosity landed in front of the dragon's snout. They stared at each other for a few moments before sudden hunger took over the beast and it snapped its jaws at the jay. The jay immediately retreated to the trees and began screeching angrily at the dragon from the safety of the tree tops. As it screeches at the dragon, other animals are attracted to the commotion and came to check it out.

Eventually some the forest creatures managed to gather their courage and realize that the beast couldn't attack them. So a pair of squirrels began teasing the beast by waiting for it to try and attack them before quickly scurrying out of range. The beast began getting frustrated and it's tail began beating the bushes it was resting on to splinters. The jay began feeling sorry for the beast and eventually became fed up with the woodland creatures behavior and swooped down at them, screeching madly, scaring them all out of their pelts. Once they all disappeared the jay flew back up to its branch and watched the tired and wounded dragon thoughtfully. Remembering how the beast had tried eating him....it must be hungry...the bird thought and began scanning the area for edible food, it spotted some raspberry plants and flew off over to them and managed to break off a plentiful branch and softly dropped it at beast's jaws.It swooped back up to its branch and began watching the dragon, the beast tried lifting its head but was now too tired to do so. The jay still feeling bad for the fierce winged creature flew down to the branch in front of the dragon and plucked a berry from it before hesitantly dropping it in the beast's teeth packed maw. The beast grunted in appreciation , the jay dropped another berry into its jaws, waited for it to eat it before plopping in another berry. This process continued for quite some time until the branch was stripped bare, afterwards the dragon slept.

The next morning the jay continued its songs and as it sang it could see the dragon watching it.When the jay finished singing it fluttered down and landed on the beast's horn, the dragon didn't mind the blue feathered critter there at all.It was greatful for the small bird's help yesterday and its company this morning , the blue jay began its noon time chatter but fell slient when the dragon suddenly stood. The jay regained its balance on the dragon's horn and continued its twittering as the dragon began walking around the forest slowly. The dragon found a small stream and began taking a drink...to its surprise the jay joined in by hopping down the dragon's snout to the edge of its snout standing on its nose. The beast fought down the urge to sneeze as not to startle his new friend, after the drink the dragon continued exploring the forest with jay which was now nestled comfortably between its horns.
