Nearly everything was going well after the war. Leo had returned with Calypso and we had finished rebuilding the cabins that had been damaged during the fighting. The only thing that wasn't going well was Annabeth's mental state. After the war she had constant nightmares and flashbacks to when she was trapped under Rome. It did't help that a new camper had shown up with an odd connection to spiders. Every where he went the spiders camp seemed to appear. He claimed he didn't know why they were showing up but something about the way he behaved seemed to indicate he did. Today was a particularly hard day for Annabeth. She'd been awake all night in fear of what she would see. Recently it seemed that something about her dreams had changed, and not for the better.

Annabeths PoV

The voice wouldn't leave me alone. At first it was just when I was asleep that he would speak to me. Trying to convince me that Percy was responsible for all of the pain that had come to pass because of the wars. I didn't believe him at first. I knew that Percy would sooner die then harm someone he cared for. But recently I wasn't so sure. I knew in my heart that he would never hurt anyone but my thoughts were not my own now. They seemed to be someone else's. Someone who wanted Percy dead.

"Hey Wisegirl." Percy walked into the room with a bright smile and for a second all the thoughts about blaming him were pushed away. I smiled back when suddenly I was thrown from my thoughts and almost as if I was pushed out of my body. I was glaring at Percy and saying something. I couldn't tell what I was saying but I wanted it to stop. Percy looked heart broken. I tried to tell him it wasn't me but I couldn't speak. I tried screaming to no avail. I was locked in my mind and suddenly I could hear what I was saying.

"-ow why I ever thought I loved you. All you do is cause pain and misery where ever you go. If you hadn't come to camp no one would have died." I was screaming that it wasn't true that I loved him and that he was a hero. I screamed that everyone sacrificed themselves to save each other and that it wasn't his fault. That he couldn't have stopped it.

"I wish you would have died when you were attacked by the fury in the museum. Them I never would have had to see you and no one would have died. It was all your fault." I screamed and cried trying to get free of whatever was controlling me. I cried as I watched a tear slide down Percy's cheek and screamed for him when he nodded sadly and walked to the beach. My body followed and I cursed as the whole time whatever was controlling me told him he was a murderer and didn't deserve a family. I broke as I heard him finally respond to what the thing controlling me said.

"You're right. I was never a hero. I don't belong here. After all I'm a monster and Camp doesn't allow monsters." I felt my mouth curl into a smile as it responded to my Seaweed Brain.

"Exactly. Now you understand. Seaweed Brain." I screamed and cursed as I watched MY Seaweed brain cry as he walked into the waves. I stood there till he disappeared under the waves. Then I felt myself turn back towards camp. My body moved toward the Big House as I screamed and cried and cursed whatever was controlling me. When I reached the porch I felt my body stagger as I finally started to gain a bit of control. However whatever this thing was it didn't give up and pushed forward till I could see Chiron. I walked over towards him and with a sickeningly sweet smile I felt the thing pull my new dagger out of my pocket as it continued towards Chiron. Just as it was about to stab him I screamed and pulled my arm back with as much force as possible. I felt tears running down my cheeks.

"Annabeth, my dear girl, what is going on?" I cried as I felt my body drop to the ground and the thing retreat enough to let me talk. It wanted me to tell my story. It wanted to drive me mad. But I had to tell Chiron. Maybe he could fix it. Fix me. Let me free. So I told him. I told him everything. And, as I neared the end I felt the influence of the thing that had been controlling me. It wanted control. It wanted to hurt Chiron. That couldn't happen. So I did what I could.
