Dear Diary

I look around,

And see all these cheery smiles,

In my thoughts, while I drowned,

It's just their trials, I thought.

But there will come a time,

Where they face a nightmare,

Where they have to climb,

Through the brutal reality air.

Something that breaks them,

Something that tears them apart.

No happiness; a gem,

Will reach to their heart.

Everybody has that time,

When they have to get through the dark.

It's like slime,

Stuck onto a bark.

It's the pure pain of betrayal,

The pure ache of broken trust.

Slowly but steadily, drifting,

Slowly but steadily, breaking you apart.

Those little things,

We thought would cut us down like a knife,

Are just to cling,

And be a part of your life.

Your friends and your family

Forgetting,

Forgetting the real you.

And you can't do anything,

All you can feel is

The numbness of your heart.

All the good times,

Left behind.

All the meant to be's,

Turnt to dust.

All your feelings,

Fell down like ceilings.

Everyone said,

"I'm here if you need anything."

Everyone said,

"Don't be afraid of your thoughts, they don't cling."

Nonetheless, "dear Diary,"

You wrote,

Everyday you cried,

You died inside.

You got very insecure,

You knew you weren't pure.

Sometimes you couldn't eat,

In your mind, you were beat.

"Dear Diary,"

You wrote.

You overthought,

But you wouldn't get caught.

You thought your soul was trapped,

You thought your path was mapped.

You couldn't sleep;

You had too much to keep.

It's not just a friend,

Not just a person,

Not an end,

But someone who could never see you cry,

Someone who would want to see you reach high.

Is the one behind all those times,

But they never get punished, for all their crimes.
