Nightmare

You keep your head down low as you recall what almost happened between you both, mixed emotions run through you, and a stray tear escapes your eyes.

"Aish... he's doing it again!" you start to choke up, but the sound of footsteps getting closer startle you, you quickly wipe away any tears as you keep walking.

"Hey! why didn't you wait for me?" yoongi pants as he manages to catch up to you, but instead of answering him you jog a bit faster than him, leaving him behind.

"Hey!" yoongi jogs a bit faster but you dash off, leaving him behind.

"Y/n! wait!" he calls out but you were already running away from him. Beads of sweat form on your forehead as you run absentmindedly, the sound of police sirens ringing in the distance make your adrenalin rush which mixes with your confusing emotions, making a deadly concoction which poisons your heart.

"W-WHY IS HE STILL DOING THIS!" you shout at the top of your lungs. You blindly start to cross the street when an oncoming car was coming your way.

Loud carn horns blare in your ears but you weren't fast enough to react.

But yoongi was.

Time travels slowly as it all happens.

He grabs your arm and pulls you back into a bone-crushing embrace, his other hand presses your head against him. The cars strong breeze blows against you both. Your breath was caught in your throat as your mouth remains agape and Yoongi's heart drops as he lets out a ragged breath.

"Why are you killing me?..." yoongi breaths out as you bite your lips to prevent any sobs from escaping your lips.

He holds you tightly against him for seconds which turn into many minutes, his face was buried in the crook of your neck as he feels a strong pain in his chest.

His gentle breaths that start to regulate bring you back down to earth. You abruptly react and push yoongi off of you, surprising him as he lets go imminently.

"thanks... " you mumble as you brush back a strand of your hair behind your ear.

"y/n... you could've killed yourself... are you oka-"

"yoongi... I think I should get going now. Im sure even though we're both wanted criminals, your boss won't want to lose his 'superstar investigator'" you mumble quietly as you fix your coat.

"A-Ani!... y/n I can't leave you alo-" yoongi's mouth remains open as he tries to continue speaking but you cut him off.

"I'll be fine without you, I've been doing it for as long as I know" you state bluntly, yoongi's mouth slowly closes as he looks down.

"o-oh... I understand... its just that-... can I buy you some coffee before you leave?" he asks hopefully.

"I-I don't have much time, I also have to find leads for this case so I can't waste time" you shuffle your feet with a nonchalant expression.

"okay... l-lets go then" yoongi smiles painfully as you nod curtly. He extends his hand outward for you to take it as you did before, but instead you pretend to not have seen it as you walk off. Yoongi's hand slowly goes down by his side as he slowly follows after you.
