Getting around places was so much easier when you're dead. It's like you're hovering, and you never get tired which is awesome. As we were 'gliding' down the street to the bridge, everything around us felt off. There was an eerie and undisturbed silence which was quite unusual for our neighbourhood on a Saturday evening. Almost as if no one was there. Both of us knew that this was not normal behavior and became alert. The air was still almost too still. This was as one would perfectly describe, the calm before the storm. Finally, we reached the bridge. There was one white flashing street light that barely lit the bridge. It was our only source of light besides the full moons beam of white light. We searched the bridge for any clues that could lead to why and how I died. We checked the railings, road, and cables thoroughly in hope of finding something that could help us. As I was looking I found a blood stain. "Dad, I think I found something...". He rushed over to where I was, and he inspected the stain. "It is definitely not an old stain because it's still slightly wet" he said while making note of how the blood glistened against the moonlight. That was it. This is where it started. "Wait Evelyn this can't be this easy. There has to be something out here. I've never gone here even after becoming a ghost because I always sensed something evil lurking in these woods". The moment those words came out of his mouth we heard rustling behind us. Our eyes widened as we slowly looked back to see what that was.

There it was standing right behind us with menacing eyes that seemed to want to destroy us. It was a creature that I had never seen before. A tall and dark creature that walked like us on two legs but was nothing like us. The eyes were something I would never forget, they were bright red just like blood and looked right at us with the darkest of intentions. The creature's body was barely noticeable in the dark except for its prominent crater like crevices making an irregular shape of a body. It was covered with scars that I'm sure had gruesome stories behind it. It had extremely sharp teeth that could slice through someone with ease and a head was shaped like a crown. I was absolutely horrified at this sight and just froze. There was a brief moment of stony silence after which the creature came charging towards us. I was not able to process what was happening but quite literally a second before the creature reached me and ripped me apart, my father dragged me out of the way to safety only to have the creature run straight into a branch and bleed to its death. It had vanished into thin air. I still didn't know what was going on but had come to my senses enough to be able to run from whatever monster this was. It then came to me that if I am dead already and really can't feel anything what is the point of this? "Dad why are we running away from whatever this is if we're dead?" I asked. His response sent shivers down my spine even though it was just the tip of the iceberg. "It is one of the few things that can kill us to a point where we will be stuck in one treacherous place for the rest of eternity and its never only one attack by one demon but one attack by many" he replied while keeping his guard while holding a dagger that he got from his pocket that I somehow didn't notice. This was no time to ask questions as another monster was going to attack us at any moment.
