Jisoos, how many floors does this place even have?!
After finding what floor he was on, Donghyuck looked over what the layout was like. It was a pretty massive floor, since it included the office and printer room from yesterday and even more. There were cameras on every corner with a turn every 5 seconds.
Meaning if he wanted to go undetected, he'd have to make it there undetected or quickly. Luckily, there were places free of cameras.
First, the old fire escape stair way. No cameras, yes. But it was along the side of the building and many people could see probably. So maybe he could only use it at night.
Second, the ventilation systems. Sol seemed to know everything. She even sent him the airway system's map as well. The vents had no cameras but did have sensors.
Lastly, the remaining place without cameras were the restrooms and employee locker rooms. That was obvious for privacy. Only employees could enter of course.
But would I be able to then?
I'm an employee.
Donghyuck looked questioningly at his ID badge. Maybe he would ask around first. Meanwhile. . .
"Crap! I've gotta get back and finish those files before that jerk-face notices!"
---
Donghyuck had done it.
"Yasss! Take that cabinet! Haechan one, cabinet zero!" He cheered at the organized hunk of metal. His foot iched to kick the thing, but he refrained.
Mark had not returned yet, and now he was starting to get bored. He simply sat alone. Unlike every office drama cliche, no one walked in to talk to the boss all day. It was super quiet. That probably showed how far up Mark was. He's so high on the ladder, problems get taken care of before they reach him.
Donghyuck fiddled with his sleeves and even drew something on a memo pad with a spare pen. That's how bored he was. He even resorted to estimating how many tiles were on the ceiling.
"You know what, I'm going to get hot cocoa," Donghyuck muttered.
He saw a cafeteria on the map of the building earlier. Mark wasn't here to order him around. Why not? Employees were allowed to take breaks anyways.
Donghyuck quickly wrote a note on the memo pad just in case Mark returned and then set off for the cafeteria. He silently cursed the left cabinet on his way out.
It was nice to finally be in the elevator after his experience with the flights of stairs getting to work earlier. When the doors finally opened, he was greeted with the soft aroma of lightly salted caramel and cookies.
The cafeteria looked more like a cafe. The lighting was warm and the air was too. It was slow and steady, being that not a lot of people were there late into the night.
That also sprouted a question into Donghyuck's head.
Why would he hire me as a secretary but have me work at 8PM and through the night?
Donghyuck shoved that question aside and walked to the counter. As he waited for someone to take his order, he observed the place fondly.
The tables were white and clean. The chairs were simple and pristine as well. String lights illuminated the place, making Donghyuck feel at home. The North always had many lights as well.
"So are you going to order or are you just going to stand?"
Donghyuck swerved his head back to the counter. A short guy stood there. Raven hair elegantly swept up. He was wearing a white button up with a red apron over top. What Donghyuck found interesting about him was that he overall looked very much like a gentleman, but it was interrupted by the silver earrings and ear cuffs he wore.
