As I watched my Ethics Sensei walking away, after looking down at my Cell, I realized I had about 10 minutes or so to make it to the Annex Study Room where Noel and Shondelle were waiting on me.
Walking through the tall beveled glass double doors, I spied them sitting at a large, round crystal-looking table with brass looking chairs.
The whole room reeked of money.
From the fancy Computer ports to the dusky-blue crushed velvet cushions of the big over-stuffed chairs and the pretty soft-light-blue. plush carpet.
On the wall in the center of the room, hung a long slender painting of the tall thin sharply dressed girl in it.
And the Brass plaque that bore in black cursive, an olde' money name, was enough for me to guess this girl had been a very important Student, or family or Faculty member at this College.
Shyly I waved my hand as I approached their table.
Looking around, I even recognized some of the people I'd had former 'Study Groups' with from other Semesters.
They did the 'head tilt' *sup* raised brows-eye thing, so I did too, before pulling out a fancy chair, and with a large sigh, plopping down.
Leaning back, I ran my hands over my face trying to smother the large yawn working it's way up my throat.
'Whew.' I thought, 'what a day THIS has been already!'
I really appreciated how organized Noel and Shondelle (who I had mentally nicknamed, *El & Del*) were. After sharing that nerdy fact?
Much to their and my surprise they liked it and so these nicknames stuck.
Quickly we traded and corrected each others notes, all 3 of us having a 'time-crunch issue,' with a lot of other things going on in our busy lives, not just College.
Well, them more than me, still, I appreciated their 'business-like approach' to learning and note-taking.
For around an hour and a half, we discussed some about the Class; and how we felt our Poor Professor Scott didn't seem to really like teaching our class, as most of the Student's were 'slackers' giving it a feel of HS Study Hall; and not the EXPENSIVE as eff; and the 'hard to get into' College Course it actually was.
So, after I had mentioned about the possibility of utilizing Group Think to change things up, they liked the idea; and soon we had a realistic plan of action to shake up the slackers and challenge them, without them realizing it; and to shape up on their own using a twisted version of B. F. Skinner's, 'Operant Conditioning Behavior Method'
And we agreed to meet about it one more time; and then implement our 'Plan Of Action' starting the coming Monday.
I was bouncing in my seat!
NOW this was exciting!
Not only would we be learning some very important things about Human Behavior that could become helpful in the current and future climate of a mixed ages classroom, we could also help our 'currently out of his depth' Professor bond better with his mixed ages Students too.
We also needed to find enough common ground to make the transition run smoothly.
My mind was happily running through many scenarios of Variables vs Controls vs...
And THAT was when El, matter of factly, lightly mentioned, 'that kid' and THEN asked me point blank,
"So Tee, JUST what in the HELL is going on between you and that younger guy?"
