The following morning when Tessa awoke from her slumber, she didn't want to peer across the room at the sleeping Ethan. Eventually though, when her second and final alarm pierced through her ears, she managed to pull herself from her covers.

She glanced towards the bed that Luna usually slept in, only to see no lump from Ethan's body there.

Instead the bed had been neatly made and was unoccupied.

Tessa wasn't surprised that he left already now she had thought about it. As she began getting changed for the day ahead, she continued waiting for Luna to get back...

"Did you guys do anything?" Tessa asked Luna during their class together.

"No! Gray and i are just friends and that's it" she laughed.

"Oh okay" Tessa said smiling to some extent. Luna wiggles her eyebrows at her.

"How about you and E? what did you guys get up to?"

"Nothing, he didn't even say goodnight" Tessa shrugged as though it didn't bother her.

it did

"Really?! Why didn't you say it first! I know what Ethan is like, he probably won't ever make the first move" Luna laughed.

"Since when was we 'making moves'?" Tessa asked, quotating it with her fingers.

"Since you shared a room with a guy" Luna giggles, causing Tessa to roll her eyes.

"Nothing happened at all."

"You're so boringgg" Luna complained, before concentrating on her work once again...

For the next 2 months of university, Luna and Grayson grew even closer together than before. Every time tessa would ask, luna always explained that they were just friends and that's all they wanted to be.

And even though tessa was happy for her friend, it still felt like a punch in the stomach. Luna hadn't only got close to Grayson, but she was now also friends with Ethan and some of the twins friends.

As for Tessa, she didn't really become friends with any of them except Grayson who usually spoke to her first. And in some ways, she even felt like she was losing Luna now too.

"Haven't you got a party to be getting ready for or something?" Tessa's dad said through the phone. Tessa has decided to call him after finding out that she'd be spending another friday night alone in her small, boring dorm room.

"No not really..." Tessa said casting her mind back to earlier when Luna had surprisingly invited her.

"Okay, well i'm glad you still make time to call me sweetie" he smiled at her. Tessa smiled back in a sad manner, but he didn't acknowledge it thankfully to Tessa. "I'm a bit concerned that you've called me for over an hour..every night this week. Where's Luna at? i've not even spoke to her since you've been back."

"She's usually busy doing..other stuff" Tessa managed to smile. "It's fine though."

it wasn't fine

"Okay, but i really do have to get going...i actually have a date tonight."

A date? He had a date?

"Oh..since when? You never told me about it" Tessa managed to fake a giggle.

"Yeah, it was kinda a surprise to me too. I've only known about it for what..2 days? i guess i kept forgetting to tell you."

"Well who is she? i want to know all the details" Tessa said sounding happy for her father, who had been single since the day his wife had died.

She watched him glance down at his watch and prepared herself for the answer she knew was coming.

"Call me tomorrow and i'll tell you all about it. I'm actually not going to make it on time if i don't go now" he said softly.

"Okay...we'll have fun.." Tessa fake smiled once again. "I love you too" was the last thing she said before watching the screen go black.

Now she really did feel all alone.

Sighing, she went to refill her water bottle before scrambling into her currently cold bed. It didn't take long for her to warm up though, and as she began sipping long draining mouthfuls of water through her bottles straw, she allowed her mind to wonder.

Everything was changing. Things always get to a good stage, then it's thrown away again with a blink of an eye. How was she going to survive the rest of University now? Her dad found someone more important, her only friend found replacements...

She sighed and closed her eyes, wanting to escape from reality.

Before she even knew it, it was time to wake up again. The birds could be heard cheeping from the green leafy trees outside, and the sun was already warm despite it only being the morning. Luna said goodmorning from the kitchen area while sipping on a mug of coffee.

"Sleep well?" Tessa asked, surprised that she seemed cheery for saying she should have a hangover.

"Feeling great! i barely drank last night- i can actually remember all the great stuff that happened!" she exclaimed excitedly. She began telling tessa all about what she had missed out on.

tessa knew that luna had no intention of making her regret not going out, or distancing herself, or 'rubbing it in her face'. But that's all tessa could think about as luna spoke without interruption for the next 10 minutes.

"Cool, sounds like it was a good night" she smiled once luna finally ran out of breath and was forced to shut up.

"Does that mean you'll come with me next time?" she questioned, only getting a shrug back from tessa. "You better, you're really missing out. When was the last time you even went out apart from going to class?"

Tessa was tempted to tell luna that she had to go and get the groceries alone on monday evening (something they said they'd always do together) but she decided that it was best if it went unmentioned.

"My point exactly! You, me, Gray and Eth if he wants are all going out for lunch today wether you like it or not."

tessa was about to protest, but luna walked out the room yet again leaving her alone.

She guessed that she had no choice but to go.
