I'm a zero

Chapter 3

(Leroy p.o.v)

We learned to give therapy on our way to earth, because we needed as much survivors as possible and most of them needed to have an acceptable mental health. It might be crazy for me to decide to give therapy to a human but I think this human needs it. "Calm down" I say "please, calm down."that seemed to do something to the human, but not in a positive way. Maybe my tone way incorrect? Maybe he doesn't even want my help. calm down, just help him. That's more important right now. Then the human shouts: "Why would I calm the fuck down!? There is an fucking alien in this forest! Why would I calm down!" Shit. This is not how I want this to go, I need to try something else. "Listen forget about the whole 'give your money to me' thing I want to help you and you really need it." He stares at my in confusion. "What? No! I don't need no fucking help! All I need is for you to go the fuck away!" I sigh, this human isn't to convince in any kind of way. Without a second thought I ask something stupid: "What's your name?" The human hesitates for a moment but then replies: "Zero, just call me Zero."

(Zero p.o.v)

Zero, the name I hate with all my might, but everyone calls me. I'm useless and that's where the name comes from. Most people at school don't even know my real name. After some time it became so natural that even the teachers didn't even bother to use my real name. That's why I'm kind of surprised that I called myself zero in from of an alien. Then I got curious and asked: "And whatś your name?" "Leroy" Leroy answer back. "Leroy? I didn't expect such a normal name from an alien" I say on a kind of joking tone. "Well, what are you gonna do about it?"Leroy says back. "But I didn't expect a human to call itself zero. It's the number of nothing so why do you call yourself nothing?" He continues. "Well it's just what everyone calls me and then I just accepted it." Leroy looks at me with a questioning look but decides to say nothing. Now in someway I'm feeling calm, why is a big question but the fact that a creature from outer-space has interest in my problems can be an answer. Then Leroy asks: "Ehm... don't you need to make your way back home?" Shit! I forgot about that. Oh well I guess it won't matter to stay a little bit longer and chat some more with Leroy so I say: "Actually yes, but I'm not really feeling up to it and my parents are always late home so it won't matter to stay a little bit longer." Leroy nods and says: "That fair. I guess." Then I got curious again and asked: "What are you doing here anyway I thought you kind was fleeing from humanity?"

(Leroy p.o.v.)

I like this human, not that I have met many but he's straight to the point and has a sense of humor. "Well I mean this is kind of an abandoned place? And before you ask, I wanted to rob you for you money to buy water and something to eat, 'cause I haven't eaten something in a few days." I answer to Zero's question. "You could come with me to my home and there is some food you could eat." "Wait what?" I say in confusion. "Like I said my parents will be home late so if you manage to go away before they come back you're fine" Zero says on an enthusiastic tone. And because I don't want to ruin his happy mood and want to eat something I agree with Zero.

"Okay now that that's settled let's start to make our way over to my house! It will at least be a thirty minute walk, so prepare yourself." Zero says. I grin "A walk huh? What about flying?" Zero is staring at me in confusion. "Sorry what?" He says still confused. Now I have a fucking big smile on my face. "You heard me good buddy we're gonna fly to the edge of the forest and from there we will walk to your house." Now Zero is smiling. He's probably still confused but says: "Now where are we waiting for then? Let's fly!" Then follows a awkward moment of silence. "So eh how are we gonna do that?" Zero asks. And I just smile.

"Are you sure this will work?" "Trust me if you just hold on tight it will work, just don't panic. Oh and keep your face covered in case someone sees us." I say back to Zero after I explained what we're going to do. The plan is simple: I will transform into a griffin, Zero will jump onto my back and navigate me to the edge of the forest. After I transformed into a griffin and Zero jumped onto my back I ask: "Are you ready?" "No" Zero replies "but let's do this Leroy!"

So it may be unclear why Zero's mood changed all of a sudden so I think it is a good idea to explain it here: Zero is a curious boy, he wants to know a lot of stuff and thought (before he met Leroy) that the aliens that attacked New York are kind of cool. When Leroy and Zero met he was all pumped up and the question about his name calmed him down because not a lot of people pay attention to him.

Anyway I hoped that cleared that up and for now untill later!
