Journey of the 5 - Forbidden Forest

Camp seriously?!

"Good morning class!" The teacher greeted with a wave and cheerful smile.

"Good Morning, Miss Tregear." The whole class groaned in unison. 

"Today, I have an important announcement to make," She smiled,

Sitting near the back, were 5 friends, Jadore, Lucas, Nikki, Shimee and Sam. The 5 has been friends for 3 years, and counting

"Oi! Put that away!" Nikki glared at Lucas, 

"I'm so close to winning it though," Lucas groaned, 

"You can play Fortnite later!" Shimee flicked her wrist, signaling him to put it away.

"But..." Lucas pouted,

"Bruh, you want that to be confiscated?" Nikki pointed out.

Lucas sighed in defeat. "Fine, this better be good." He slipped his laptop in his bag, "I just gave up my only chance to winning Fortnite" 

"Class, this term we will be going on a camping trip!" Ms Tregear announced. Like a little girl, hoping from one foot to another, her excitement poured out of her. "We are going to..."

"Just say it already." Sam groaned to himself,

"Drum roll please!" Ms Tregear pleaded, "Swenstton! Isn't that great?" 

Awkward Silence fell upon the class...

"The hell is that?" Jadore asked dryly, placing her feet on top of the table. 

"Show some respect, will ya?" Nikki rolled her eyes.

The whole class snickered.

Keeping her cool professionally, Ms Tregear took a deep breath and smiled, "You don't know where that is?"

"How should I know?!" Jadore shrugged, "Where is this Swenstton place anyway?"

"It's near the town of Wildehollow." She clapped her hands together and smiled cheerfully.

Jadore pulled a straight face.

"Oh my!" Ms Tregear gasped, "You don't know where that is too?" Walking over to her computer, she turned on the projector. "I was originally planning for a free period, but since you have no idea where our campsite is," She walked over to the whiteboard and began writing, "I guess we'll have to learn a bit about it then."

The whole class groaned, "What?!" 

"Great job, Jadore!" Lucas rolled his eyes, "You just made me waste my only chance on winning Fortnite." Crossing his arms, he turned his back to Jadore, "Screw you."

*After School at Nikki's house*

Sitting on the attic deck, the 5 hanged out.

"I hate school camps, they suck!" Jadore groaned. Leaning back she sunk herself into a pink beanbag "Who would want to go to this Swenstton place anyway?"

"Swenstton, huh?" Sam grabbed his chin, as he wondered about it deeply.

"Sounds familiar, doesn't it?" Nikki asked. Unzipping her pink Nike bag she grabbed her lunchbox and munched on her sandwich. Turning her computer on, she began to type.

"I heard there was a rumour about a forest near the area." Lucas took a bite on his pizza, while looking at his phone. "But that was like 2...3 months ago, people should've already forgotten about it."

"What are you doing?" Shimee asked, looking over Nikki's shoulder, eyeing her screen. Her eyes widened in shock, "You're hacking?!"

Green numerals poured in her screen as her keyboard clicks rapidly, "Aaaaaaaand, done!" 

Everyone gathered around her.

"What did you do?" Jadore asked, 

"Hacked into the CIA's deleted files." Nikki boastfully announced, she scrolled down and kept exploring.

"That's my gurl!" Jadore gave her a fist bump.

"Why the deleted files though?" Sam wondered, "The files there should already be irrelevant."

"Exactly!" Nikki smirked, "Remember what Lucas said?"

"Nom-Nom-Nom. No, what DID I say?" Lucas dusted the crumbs off his shirt, 

"I heard there was a rumor about a forest near the area. But that was like 2...3 months ago, people should've already forgotten about it"

"Oh, that one!" Lucas realized, "How are you so sure though?"

"I'm not." Nikki replied without breaking contact with her screen, "I'm just trying every option I have."

"Robbery... Bombing.... Missing reports!" Nikki immediately clicked on the file. Whispering to herself, she came across, a file named Forbidden Forest. "Forbidden Forest? This might be it." Without hesitation, she selected the option.

"Woah!" Shimee gasped, "I think we found it."

The 5 came across a report saying...

3 months ago, we sent teams into the forest of Swenstton, scouting for traces of Nickel Nitrite. According to our scientists, Nickel Nitrite is a dangerous substance that allows to mutate the human DNA. Creators of this substance work mysteriously, as we have not found any leads. There were many reports saying that none of them came back, we've tried to investigate further but many of our detectives have been reported missing. I think that it's time to call this case CLOSED...

"Well, lets prove the government wrong!" Nikki smirked.
