Third person P.O.V
She flicked the light of her baby pink lamp on and started rubbing her tired eyes. She got onto her tiny little feet and started walking downstairs while holding onto her stuffed toy monkey.
As she made her way down the stairs and into the living room she saw her mother.
"......Mommy what's going on?.........what's wrong?.....where's daddy?" The little girl in her white nightie was trembling in fear as she watched her mother aggressively stuffing clothes inside a big black suitcase.
"It's okay sweetie, where going to be just fine and don't worry about daddy he'll be here soon." She whispered reassuringly to her petrified 10 year old.
The mother gave a forced smile to her child to calm her down, she walked towards her and kneeled down holding her tiny shoulders and looked into her eyes "listen to me sweetie.....no matter what happens you stay quiet and listen to mommy okay?"
"Mommy are we hiding from someone?........why are we hiding?......are we playing hide and seek with daddy and his friends?" The little girl squeaked.
"......yeah.....you can say we're playing hide and seek, which means you have to stay quite okay" the mother whispered with tearful eyes.
"I'll play in one condition.....if you give me your pretty bracelet that grandma gave you" The little girl smiled innocently.
"....okay, as long as you don't lose it and protect it with your life okay because this bracelet isn't just an ordinary bracelet, it's a family heirloom that has been passed down to all the woman in our family" the mother gave a wide smile to her child as she unclasped her bracelet and placed it gently on her child's hand as she gave her a tender kiss on the forehead.
10 year old Amelia giggled giddily as she admired the elegant bracelet on her fragile wrist.
"Eve...where are you? we have to go" Charles walked in and slammed the hotel room door on the 5 star hotel cruise ship. "Daddy!....where have you been? You promised me you would play hide-and-seek with me." Amelia protested against her father.
"I'm sorry baby, I'll make it up to you some other time okay pumpkin" said Charles as he gently caressed Amilia's cheek. "But right now we have to go home okay baby" Amelia's father said with a soft voice. "I'm all packed, and I've also packed Amelia's stuff as well...we have to go now or else they'll get to the ship and then we won't be able to escape" Eve scowled. As she grabbed little Amelia's hand , a sudden knock was heard at the door of the hotel suite. "We're to late....their already here" said Charles in short breathes as his heart was beating as fast as a hummingbird's heart on steroids, his heart wasn't beating of fear of death but it was beating of fear of what they will do to his wife and only child Amilia. His greatest weakness was and will always be his family. He didn't want any harm to come to his daughter and his wife. "Eve, take Amilia to her bedroom....now" said Charles as a deadly silent fell upon the small family. As the air seemed to thicken and the tension in the room grew at every continuous knock that echoed loudly around the room.
Amelia was scared, frightened, confused, and lost she didn't know what was going on and who her parents were talking about and what are they too late for? Nothing was making sense in her tiny little head . Scary scenarios played in her mind. What if someone is here to take her away from her parents, thought Amelia. She didn't notice she was crying until droplets of her salty tears were rolling down her face to her now red nose and rosy cheeks. Who ever 'they' were Amelia definitely knew that they weren't friends with her daddy or mommy. Her mother took large steps and dragged Amilia behind her, towards the princess suite in which Amilia was staying. As they entered the room the shining light of the moon glistened on the beautiful Pacific ocean was easily noticeable as Amelia had forgotten to close her blinds that night.
As Eve wiped Amilia's tears with her slender fingers she hugged her and whispered warm words into her small ears saying that everything is going to be okay, even though she knew that nothing was ever going to be okay after this. "Mommy is daddy going to be okay?" Said Amilia as her small plump lips quivered in angst. 'I don't know',Eve wanted to reply but she knew very well that Amilia will be devastated so she replied with "daddy is going to be fine sweetie".
When Amilia was finally about to give her mother a small smile, they heard a piercing gun shot from the living room. Eve hurriedly pushed Amilia outside onto the balcony under the dark sky filled with dead stars as they no longer shined as bright as they used to.Amilia had tears in her eyes and a huge lump had formed in her throat, she was trembling out of fear and had a hard time trying to even out her breathing."stay here okay amilia...mommy will be back okay" Eve whispered quietly to Amilia. "What if you dont come back?.....what would I do then?....I want you to stay mommy, please don't....don't leave me" murmured Amilia. " okay.....if I don't come back you have to promise me that you won't let those men take you okay and ........and promise me that you will hide and you won't let them take you no matter what" rambled Eve as tears rolled down her cheeks." I promise that I won't let them take me" Amilia said. Just like that Eve looked longingly at her child for a few seconds and then she locked the balcony window with her child locked outside in the chilly air afraid and lost.
'BANG!', another gun shot was heard that night as well as a high pitched scream. As Amilia heard the second gun shot that night the words of her mother rung in her head and the promise she made to her, as Amilia turned around to look at the deep blue Pacific Ocean it looked dark, scary, and empty it almost looked like a black hole ready to suck you in.Amilia wasn't a strong swimmer but she at least knew how to float, her heart started thumping like a drum as she climbed to the other side of the balcony and then, with a sigh she let go of the railing and fell into the darkness of the ocean as it slowly consumed her.
