my heart beats in time with the wipers

86 8 2

like the water getting thrown

my life is not my own

i beg and scream

I fight and cry

ripping out my hair

clawing at my thighs

i watch the blood go down the drain

lost in the flow

of swirling pain

that night was cold

dark and stormy

the highway abandoned

a foreshadow of thoughts that did not exist yet

the drive was beating

the rain, my heart

my breathing shallow

eyes glazed over

i couldn't move

i couldn't speak

white knuckles petrified me

mind blank

my chest restricted

tears welling and falling

i knew

she knew

they all knew

they let her

faster and faster

her foot on the pedal

i felt weak

lightheaded

i wanted to scream

my energy drained

we reached the bridge

...

an open door

needles in my side

wet

gasping

pain

she

they

all

knew

...

The rain stopped on her drive back

What a pleasant sunny life she has.
