"You're My Best Friend"

Ooh, you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It's you, you're all I see
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live

You're the best friend
That I ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you
You're my best friend

Ooh, you make me live

I've been wandering round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl
I'm happy at home (happy at home)
You're my best friend.

Ooh, you make me live
Whenever this world is cruel to me
I got you to help me forgive
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live

You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
You're my best friend

Ooh, you make me live.

I'm happy, happy at home
You're my best friend
You're my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
You, you're my best friend.

DYK:

The band's bass player John Deacon, who wrote this love song, was inspired by his wife, Veronica Tetzlaff, whom he married in January 1975.
This track was initially included on the album and later released as a single with "'39" as the B-side.
John Deacon wanted to write a song incorporating an electric piano, but Freddie Mercury refused to play it. So Deacon had to take the piano home and learned to play it. During live performances though, a grand piano was used, and it would be played by Freddie Mercury, while Deacon played the bass guitar.
The music video depicts the band in a ballroom surrounded by thousands of candles. It was shot at Elstree Studios, London, in April 1976. Here John Deacon plays a grand piano rather than the electric one he used on the recording.
This track was featured in the film "Shaun Of The Dead" (2004) and in the opening credits of the film "The Break-Up" (2006).
