Annora's POV
I wake up feeling stiff from sleeping on the couch and head to the bathroom seeing the largest eye bags I have ever seen, I sigh and wash my face attempting to mask my eye bags with a concealer. It's Sunday, I don't have work and seems to be a nice Autumn day the sun is beaming and the rusty leaves of the tree are gracefully getting wisped up in the atmosphere. But instead of dressing up and heading out to explore Seoul, remaining in my oversized shirt I take a cup of instant ramen from the cupboard and fill it with boiling water. I sit tired at the breakfast bar watching the round silver clock on the wall tick by, I open the top of the packaging and stir the ramen with a pair of disposable chopsticks.
KNOCK KNOCK
The chopsticks drop out of my hands and I unwillingly run to the door, swinging it open with an unnecessary amount of force, I find myself facing Jungkook once more still in the same clothes as the night before, with larger eye bags than mine. Was he up all night, because of me?
"Annora," he says
My hands shake at the doorknob, I don't know what to do, what do I say, should I close the door on him or invite him in?
"I'm sorry about not calling you or messaging you," he says worriedly
"I had no credit to use in Japan so I couldn't contact anyone," he explains his hands behind his back
The heavy weight upon my shoulders lightens a little bit but my shoulders still feel fatigued with an unknown abundant weight
"I didn't forget you," he said in the moment of silence
Jungkook took the hand from behind his back to reveal something small in his hand, a snow globe made of a smooth white stone with two little figures on the inside he passed it to me with a weak smile.
"I missed you," he said
The weight completely lifts off my shoulders as I vigorously shake the globe and admire the faux snowflakes swimming around the figures. I look up at Jungkook now smiling and he unexpectantly wraps his arms around me tightly
"The door," I mumble
"Doesn't matter," he replies
In response, I also wrap my short arms around Jungkook and bury my head into his chest, he missed me too. The world seems to melt away and we are no longer in my apartment anymore but a secluded place surrounded by pure white clouds and silence it's just Jungkook and me. No fans, no work, no media just me and him. The heaven surrounding me melts away as we break apart and I close the door realizing that I am still dressed in this stupid oversized shirt.
"Uh how was Japan?" I ask
"Tiring," he replies jumping onto the couch
I take the cup of ramen I boiled and brought it over to Jungkook placing it onto the coffee table, he sits up from the couch and stares at me.
"Eat it," I say handing him it
"Nah I'm fine," he lies
"Psh you think you can lie to me you haven't eaten since yesterday have you,"
"What's this did you learn telepathy while I was gone," he says taking the ramen from me
"No in Australia I saw bitten by five mosquitoes once and it gave me telepathic abilities," I say leaning in slowly
Jungkook's hand's freeze chopsticks dripping of ramen, I quickly slurp up the ramen and giggle to myself
"I'm kidding," I said laughing to myself
Jungkook huffs and loads his mouth up with ramen finishing off the cup within a couple of minutes I sit beside him with my snow globe studying every little detail about it, this is the first gift I've ever received from a guy, it's better than diamonds or designer clothing because it has something more precious his feelings. His feelings which he could have given to ANY other girl but he chose me. Jungkook lies down across the couch his head landing in my lap, I watch his eyes slowly close peacefully I brush his now blonde hair out of his eyes he is my Jungkook. I'm happy
"Let's go Namsan Tower tonight," he mumbles eyes remaining closed
"You said you wanted to go there with someone special let that be me," he smiles softly
Australia - Annora's Mother's POV
"So when is she coming back?" my sister asks as the talkative table silences
"After Christmas," I reply waiting for the silence to break
"Is she alright there it might be a dangerous country," Mum says bringing over biscuits
"She's fine in fact she hardly calls me, she's always busy it's weird," I reply
"What if she has a boyfriend," my brother says slamming his glass of coke down
"Boyfriend? Are you crazy she's never liked anyone in her life it would be bull if she had a boyfriend," I laugh
Annora had always been so anti-social ever since the school was equal to a jail and hell combined, she didn't even want to go to school or out of the house at all on weekends, she would just watch those stupid dramas and read hundreds of books.
"Lee, Annora is 24 now maybe you should think of other options," Mum says quietly sitting at the table
"What do you mean,"
"We could arrange a marriage with a good man, I know a man who has a son, he's a farmer and owns land in Sydney,"
"An arranged marriage..." I say to myself
"I think it's a good idea," my sister admits
"She'll be alone forever she doesn't even know how to make friends,"
Suddenly I feel an anger rise, I know Annora never had many friends but how can her own family say this, a sickening silence blankets the table.
"I don't know if you are aware but Annora is in a foreign country making a lot more money than you have ever so I don't think we should really decide her social status for her," I blurt
I get up abruptly civilly say my goodbyes and leave for home, what if Annora is lonely in a foreign country all by herself it might be a good idea to meet this farmer Annora might be happier...
