Different Elements

Chapter three

Crystal Ford

Being on earth makes me bring back the memories. Walking at the streets near my school made me think that i almost killed my friends... Even the ones who was dearest to me...

     "You must be in deep thought," Ruby tapped my shoulder. I'm so happy that she made me stop my train of thought.
     "I... I guess i am..." I sighed. "I'm REALLY sorry about doing it on such short notice... i'm just doing what i've been told." Ruby said. "I know they're my parents, but why would you leave them?" Ruby sighed,"Your parents said so! Why would I argue with that?"

      "You're always defending yourself using my parents! You're like a little kid."
      "There's nothing wrong with it, you have to advise a parent or teacher with it... especially with problems," Ruby explained. "I guess you're right..." I kicked the rock.

     BANG

      "What was that?!" Ruby looked around. I heard screams coming from the left side.
      "It's coming from the mall..." I ran but Ruby teleported to me. "Don't you think we shouldn't waste your energy?" She gestured me to hold her hand, "C'mon let's go before something happens."

     Once we teleported to the mall lots of people were running outside. "What happened?" I asked "Well, the left wing side of the mall suddenly exploded, we were just about to investigate but a lot of people inside are running around. So we have to clear the people inside, some police officers said it was clear but... one police officer saw a kid, we were trying to see who owns him but, no one came. We asked everyone who went inside the mall but no one brought a kid here..."
     "Where's the kid though?"
     "The kid is with our police officer Reggie in the right wing side of the mall. Reggie was trying to get the kid out but the kid doesn't want to. He kept shouting a gem, Ruby." Ruby? Isn't that my friend Ruby? Does she have a sibling?
      "Rascal..." Ruby muttered. This was the first time i heard her say something like that.
    "Come on let's get inside!" Ruby tried to enter but the police stopped her.
    "Sorry Miss, but we can't let you in unless you are pemissioned to enter the buliding." Ruby sighed "Okay fine! C'mon Crystal. Let's go leave."

     Ruby walked to the exit of the parking lot of the mall.
     "Why would you do as the police say?"
     "Come on! No i wouldn't! This is earth. Not the Magic Dimension. Which means, we get to fool easily the people here."
     "So you're teleporting?" Ruby nodded. "Now, let's go inside!"

     Ruby teleported us in the right wing side of the mall.
  
    "We could easily get inside with or without permission." Ruby smiled a daring smile.
  
    We saw a police officer talking to a kid. And the kid was bursting in tears.
    "RASCAL!!!"
    "Ruby!" I ran to her. She then pushed the police officer.
     The kid was calming down. "Wow, i didn't know you had a thing for---"
     "Who said you two can get inside?!" The police officer stood up. "The police officer outside let us in!"
    "George?! That darn inspector! He doesn't know what the rules are!"
   "Anyways, you two shouldn't be here." Said the police officer Reggie.
   "We're supposed to be here! This is my brother Rascal. I didn't know he would go to the mall..."

   So this was why Ruby muttered the word Rascal. She knew that the kid was her own brother. But how? She got no further information about the kid when we were outside talking to the police officer. I think he was the inspector. George was it?

   "I thought the inspector asked everyone who entered the mall bring  a chi---" he looked at us. "Nevermind." Did he just nevermind us? How interesting. He must've realized we were somewhat a kid too.
    "Anyways, you three better get out before another explosion accours. So, better get going, kids."
   "But--!" Ruby was cut off. "No buts, hurry up before something goes wrong." He tried pushing us out.

   Sigh... what are we gonna do?! We're here to save this mall. Or maybe just me? I don't know! This is my home world! I gotta save it. Even if i caused it...

  "We are... not just kids! We're here to save this mall!" The police officer, Reggie chuckled. "How are you gonna save this mall of you're just a kid? You're not a superhero. You're just a super 'zero'!"

   You! I have powers that can save earth! Or even the milky way! You can't stop me! You're just a police officer!

    "I may be a super zero. At least i have what it takes to be a hero." I touched his shoulder. "You FROZE him?! Wow! I never knew someone would get a power like that! Most people in the Power Dimension doesn't have any ice powers... Unless..."
    "Unless what?"
    "You're---"

     BANG!!!

     "Oh no! The center exploded we gotta go!" Ruby held our hands.

     We teleported AWAY from the mall.

     "Where are we?" Rascal looked around. "I-I- I don't know. I let my powers be handled by Crystal! She's the only one who knows where we are!"
    "Crystal? Where are we?"

    "I'm home..."
