January 1536

Katherine of Aragon died and the King and Queen decided they would remarry each other in February to make their marriage legitimate in the eyes of Europe.

February 1536

The king and Queen remarried and Mary signed the oath. As a reward the Queen suggested she can be a princess and marry a Protestant king. It was decided Mary would be Princess Mary and marry the king of Sweden. King Gustav was a handsome man and only a few years younger than Henry VIII.

March 1536

Princess Mary married King Gustav. Meanwhile a woman by the name Jane Seymour came to court. Her brother Thomas sent her so she could take the king away from his wife.

June 1536

By June the king knew his courtship was going too far with Jane Seymour and he " broke up" with her. He was determined to fix his marriage.

October 1536

Queen Mary of Sweden was pregnant.
