It happened on a late, late night
When the party was held.

The coldest winds began to bite
As our souls would meld.

You were blurry and out of focus,
Our friends waltzed around
But despite that, all I felt was us
And the feeling finally found.

Your fingers slid through my hair and once again
I could almost definitely swear
I'd found heaven.

Oh I could love you,
Set myself free.
But I don't want to
Cause this ain't about me.

I've known you for years.
I've seen you smile,
You've seen my tears,
And we've been friends all the while.

I love you, you're so fine
But I know I can't say
Cause you'll never be mine
No, you'll never stay.

You say you love me,
Its not the same.
All those girls you see
This stupid love game.

Damn I want you to be happy
I know that parts true
And I know this is really sappy
But I know I can't have you.
