         ~Y/n's POV~

"Do you even know where we'll go?" I asked softly and glanced over at my dad who drove with wet eyes.

Dad took in a deep breath and said, "We're going to Derry. I used to live there."

"Aren't they known for missing kids?" I questioned silently.

Charlie glanced at us before my dad added, "Don't worry Charlie. I won't let anyone get you."

"Promise?" Charlie uttered, his voice cracking.

"We both promise," I added and gave him a soft reassuring smile.

Dad chuckled through his nose to only sigh in the end. "It was bad that we ended like that."

"You and mom?" I glanced at him.

He nodded and tapped his finger on the wheel, "I do love her, it's just she's a bit of a hot-head."

"You shouldn't get back together with her." I sighed. "It'll only hurt us, I'm used to it, but Charlie's not."

Dad shook his head and said to himself, "It's bad that you've gotten used to it."

"I know," I glanced at Charlie and continued. "Let's talk about this later."

Dad glanced at the mirror to see Charlie attempting to hold back his tears, and agreed.

I leaned in my seat and smiled, I turned towards Charlie and said. "Guess what?"

"What?"

"It's supposed to rain today, so we'll make a boat. Like old times?"

He stared at me for a moment before he nodded with a smile, his mood lighting up a bit, "Yes. Fun."

"You know, there used to be a circus there," Dad butted in with an amused smile on his face--but through that mask, I could see him breaking down in tears.

"Really?" Charlie gasped, not out of excitement, but out of fear.

"Not anymore," I quickly added. "It was a long time ago."

Dad glanced at me before making an 'ah' noise, recalling Charlie's phobia.

"Hey, look." Dad perked up. "We're here."

My eyes darted towards the 'Derry' sign as it passed by, a smile flew on my face, but it turned into a frown when something didn't feel right about it. Eyes. Eyes. Eyes. EYES.

I shivered.

"Well, welcome to our new home."

I glanced at Dad once again, he had the widest smile on his face when we entered town. It must've meant a lot to him if it brung such a devastated man to smile.

But nothing felt right.

Like, something was watching me as if I entered its forbidden territory.

I shrugged it off, maybe it's in my imagination.

But the eyes kept me on edge.
