I didn't know what it felt like to miss someone
until we met, and shortly parted
I didn't know how hard it was to be separated
from someone until I knew you
I didn't know soft I was, how the rough edges fall away so easily, until I fell for you
I didn't know

I didn't know
I'm not sure I would have signed up for this
if I had know how hard it is to be in love
yet regardless of all the struggles
some of my best moments were with you
I guarantee
I would have been
clueless
if I hadn't gone through this
but here's the thing
it's not over
sometimes it feels like it is
and then I see you everywhere
social media
art
music
theater
books
school
stores
I see you everywhere
yet you're still so
c l u e l e s s
of how I
crave you
and I'm still so
c l u e l e s s
as to when it will be over
and whether I will be
smashed at the end
or stitched up
finally completed
but I guess both of us
will always be
clueless
