Colorism is a huge problem in the black community, we have dark skin teenage girls seeking validation from black men and black women, even the white people. I understand that everyone wants to feel accepted, trust me. But you DON'T NEED validation from ANYONE but yourself. Your skin is a gift from the heavens above babygirl or baby boy embrace it, don't shame it, no matter what the standards of beauty are. The day YOU are comfortable with YOUR skin, is the day no one can make you feel ashamed of it. The media will show redbones and white women , you do NOT have to live up to those EUROPEAN BEAUTY STANDARDS because you are NOT meant to, you live up to your OWN beauty standards.
