Ch. 17 - Kevin's Party

Start from the beginning

James: "In which case, your desperately wanting his help to get more attention."

He said, as Lapis snorted a chuckle.

Kevin then showed redness on his face, glaring at the teen.

Kevin: "Laugh while you can, old friend."

He said, turning back to Steven.

Kevin: "So what do you say kid?"

Steven: "Look Kevin, Stevonnie only exists when Connie and I are together, and we're... I'm not coming."

James: "Yeah, so get lost, go ruin someone else's life."

Kevin: "Fine, have it your way."

Kevin sighs angrily and begins to leave.

Kevin: "Great, so I invited that other kid for nothing."

Steven: "Huh? Connie's going?!"

James: "Seriously?"

Steven drops all of his fliers and runs after Kevin, panting, while James and Lapis looked at each other in surprise.

Lapis: "Why would she though?"

James: "I really don't know, come on."

He said while shrugging as they followed Steven.

Kevin: "Of course she's going, no one turns down an invitation to a Kevin party."

He said as he gets in his car.

Steven: "But she can't stand you! Why would she -- Wait, did you say all of this to her, too!? Does she think I'm gonna be there!?"

James: "Kevin, wait up! He's talking to you!"

Kevin puts the keys in his car and starts the engine as Steven frantically tries to talk to him.

Steven: "Is it too late for us to RSVP!?"

The teen rolls down his window, staring at them.

Kevin: "Yes, but I'll make an exception...for Stevonnie. And James, you...should come too, you know, catch up with the good times we had, you can bring the blue chick if you want."

Lapis: "Okay?"

James was a little bit surprised.

James: "You want me...to come to your party?"

Kevin: "Look, even though you have a weird hair style, I still respect you, and this party I'm throwing, needs to be the best party that everyone will remember."

James: "Okay, I guess we'll be there too."

Kevin: "See you later then."

Kevin drives away but immediately returns.

Kevin: "Wait, what's your number? I'll text you the address."

Steven: "Oh, yeah, uh, 301-555..."

Kevin: "Here, you enter it."

Kevin interrupts him as he hands Steven his phone.

Steven: "Okay, uh, how do I...?"

Kevin: "You roll the little ball to navigate."

Steven: "The screen is so tiny."

James: "It's the new days, Steven."

He said, shrugging.

Kevin: "I can have my dad hook you up with one of these if you want."

James: "I think I'll stick with my phone with the touch screen, thank you very much."
